Good Morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

Quick start this morning. I apologize for starting late today - the backup job I was running took longer than expected.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Here I am with my brand new computer which we set up yesterday. I still can't get the scanner to work and the error message seems to use terminology not found anywhere in the pages and pages of help.

Our computer, of course, came with 6 months of free AOL, but after reading the article below, I am more committed than ever to never have anything to do with AOL again.

Slay the AOL Monster

Hey all...tell me what you think about this little scheme: Today is "tax free" day in Florida and GA, (I don't know if the rest of the country has it or not) but as I was looking at the advertisement for Bealls, I read the following, which was in BIG PRINT:

"TAX FREE DAYS SALE EXCLUSIVELLY AT BEALLS!

Then it reads:

"Bealls Tax Free Sale offers you a special discount equal to the amount of the sales tax!"* (whenever I see that little *, I know something is up). Then I read on the bottom,

"*The price of the merchandise will be reduced by the applicable sales tax rate. Sales tax will be charged on the reduced sale price."

So......it isn't really a "tax free" sales day, is it? They are still charging you taxes on the merchandise. Sheesh.

Also...I cannot believe that Katherine Harris did not know that in order to run for Congress that she had to resign her position as the Secretary of State. Who the heck is HER campaign advisor? Are they just totally stupid? You would think that the most well-known woman in the country would have that knowledge, and if she didn't, you would think that the GOVERNER of Florida would have told her this. Or someone on her staff. They just put another nail in her election coffin.

Thanks, that AOL article is a keeper and a must-read for its description of the left's plans and playbook--past, present and future.

Darned if I didn't post it in the wrong place, though. I absolutely hate this divided FR system, I guess because I just can't seem to get used to it. I should have posted it in News/Activism and when I don't think to specify, it seems to end in the wrong place.

So the disingeneous dogs are actually having a sale with, what--6% or so off? Wow, so generous they are--can they afford it? Sheesh, maybe they should be selling carpets and going out of business every other week like all the others. Hope you recovered from your yesterday!

Yes, that's exactly what they are doing, W. I think it's a scam. Why don't they just have a regular "sale" instead of misleading people into believing they won't have to pay taxes? You know why? Because if I bought an item, for say....oh, $45.00, I would receive a 6% discount which equals $2.75 which would give me a reduced price of $42.25. Then, they would charge me 6% on the 42.25 which equals $2.54, and the total would then be $44.79. How much did I save? A whopping $.21 cents. Woo freeping hoo.

It's not a sale.

You all might want to check out this one, Sarah Brady's Gun Gift as it illustrates how Europe, by disarming its citizens, is now being run roughshod over by brazen criminals and other unsavory types...

Jemian...remember that thread you posted the other day (as if you could forget? *grins*) about AOL/Time Warner charging the flood victims in TX $300.00 for the damaged boxes? Lookee what someone posted on the thread:

"The president of Time Warner Cable San Antonio said Wednesday that "miscommunication" caused some employees to wrongly tell customers they would be charged for converters damaged or destroyed by flooding.

On Monday, Time Warner spokeswoman Karen Hartley said the company would charge customers $300 for cable boxes destroyed by flooding.

But on Wednesday, President Kevin G. Kidd said the company had decided not to charge customers for the converters.

"There clearly has been a lot of miscommunication on this issue in the last few days," said Kidd, who replaced Navarra Williams as president last week.

He said an executive response team was set up to handle problems involving flood victims, and those team members were instructed not to charge for any damages resulting from the floodwaters.

Kidd confirmed that the company's usual policy is to charge customers for damaged equipment, and that policy was communicated to several customers who phoned in questions about destroyed converters.

"Clearly some (customers) didn't get through to the executive response team and were handled by the normal day-to-day policy," Kidd said....

So, are they telling us that this "policy" was NOT known by all the employees? Is that really believable? If I called in and said, "I got flooded out" the customer service department would not know that they should transfer me to the "Executive Response Team?" Yeah, right...I bet they just instituted that "executive response team Wednesday night. Bunch of theives.

W...sorry, yes I am doing better than today. It's about to rain, I'm putting in a movie for the kiddos, and I am going to lay down on the couch and relax.

Oops....spoke too soon....Michael has just been sent to his room with a spanking because he ripped the pretzel bag out of his brother's hands and spilled them all over the floor.

Just got back from running daughter #2 around to and from soccer practice. We checked out Bed and Breakfasts in Kennebunkport, and their bargain rates for one night (3 people) was $250!!! We camp on vacation normally, so we just moved on up the road and found a cheaper place!

I don't think any place there is reasonable since the Presidents vacation there and it's obvious that some people are willing to pay what they ask.........just not us! :o)

As you all know, my theory on this administration is that they DO things and that the press is clueless in figuring out what's really going on. I invite you to read this article, and then let me know what you think. I think Powell is up to something, and I am interested in what you think is going on...because it sure isn't just a little trip for courtesy's sake.

Oops! you already answered this, sorry.

I've seen the ads. Reminded me too much of 1984 , so I skipped it.
