"I drifted and then I heard what I thought was a yell or a scream. It sounded female," Voss says. "I've never heard anything like it before."

They say that when a coyote kills a rabbit, the yelp resembles a child's cry. What Steve Voss heard in the early hours of June 5 sounded much more human.

Yes, she's the only one in the family who has said anything meaningful -- and they've pretty much silenced her.

Varina, who do you think has silenced her?

Do any of you remember the description given of Elizabeth's personality? That she always spotted the lonely, shy people in a group & went to sit with them.

I can't find it, but have read it within the last couple of weeks.

I've never heard that. Please post the article so that we can all discuss it.

I surely will, sandude, but it has to be tomorrow. Very interesting, & possibly pertinent, in light of what has been posted here today.

'nite

You say you don't hate anyone, but it seems like you hate poor Sherlock.

I didn't hear any hate in Neenah's posts. In Post 66, she answered Sherlock's accusation against anyone with viewpoints different than his:

Oh boy, here come all the folk that are intoxicated with their hatred of Ed Smart and the family

She explained why she had such an interest in this case and it was a very powerful and emotional story. I know I woke up thinking about her story. I didn't hear any hate in the story. She shared with us a very difficulot time in her family's life. She has taken the time to explain her views which are different than Sherlock's. Now you are attcacking her again.

Why???

I don't know, but probably the family/extended family? Just have a hunch she was too candid for them when speaking publicly.

I believe that if Lois had something to say that would help bring her baby home that hell or high water couldn't keep her from talking to the press. Also, if there were a reporter out there who had any reason to believe that she was being censored, that reporter would be screaming it from the roof tops. If anybody in this family has been silenced It seems to me it is Uncle Tom. I think that he has willingly stepped back at the request of his siblings. I think that they want to present a united front and Tom as a spokesman just didn't work. I know that others feel he is pulling all of the strings here but I just don't buy it. He is an inactive member of the church and a family like this one would not be taking any kind of marching orders from him. The most likely scenario from my experience with Mormon families is that they are having family councils and working to maintain their united front. In these councils the women would have an equal voice in all matters. I also should mention that just because Tom may not be going to church right now he would still be a part of these councils.

JG, I took it as a threat since you don't normally freepmail me and you didn't post it to the board, but am glad to know that isn't the way you meant it.
