How to Beat the Democrats and other subversive ideas

EXCERPT

Politics is about winning. It seems like an obvious fact, but Republicans sometimes forget it. Many seem to think that politics is only about being right: if you espouse good principles and good policies, you’ve performed your political task. In one sense, of course, politics is about such things. Why engage in political battles if you don’t think you are wiser or more principled than your opponent? But politics is also a war in which almost anything goes. Consequently good principles and good policies are defeated as often as they succeed.

Those who think they can win elections on superior principles and better policies are “Gold Star” Republicans. Gold Star Republicans believe that if they show voters they are decent and prudent human beings they will be rewarded. But that’s not the way the political war works.

Defending our Republic and the principles for which it stands is a task that Republicans will have to face. To do this successfully, Republicans will first have to change their approach to the battle itself. They can no longer afford to regard politics as a business. Instead, they will have to embrace it as a cause.

Remember what we're up against.

McAuliffe wisdom from 2000,
on why Republicans lost key races:

"I think for the Republican National Committee last Tuesday was one of the worst nights they have ever had. Somebody has to take responsibility but I am not going to blame it on (Republican Party Chairman) Gov. Gilmore. I am going to blame it on a lack of vision, a lack of ideas, bad candidates. Listen, they put up conservative candidates who are outside the mainstream of where America is."

Now doesn't that make you angry? E-mail your congressmen and senators and tell them to take off the gloves! Suggest they buy David Horowitz's new book "How to Beat the Democrats and other subversive ideas".

Let's keep our eyes on the prize!

We need to give our president a House of Representatives and a Senate that will work with him to pass bills our country needs. Dims are already trying to plant the idea that we shouldn't smack Iraq. Please make sure they don't get their way!

Hello Miss Marple, nice to see you.

Hillary at the beauty shop?! I'm pretty sure if she ever stepped into one it would spontaneously combust.

Well, yea, but,,,,. The 'conservative candidates who are outside the mainstream' are the candidates that are most attractive to the base.

We recently endured a primary for the U.S. Senate to select a candidate to defeat Tom Harkin here in Iowa. Congressman Greg Ganske was the favorite, but was challenged by a God and Country Constitutionalist, Ex-Marine, Bill Salier. The RNC came in and helped with ads on Ganske's behalf. Ganske won the race with around a 60% majority. The Salier supporters are so angry with the RNC they swear they will not vote in November. That will be extremely problematic for the rest of the Republicans on the ticket.

I have so much to do today, and with politics the topic of the day, it is clear that I will not accomplish everything on my list.

Maybe a chance for seat in New Jersey?

Senate Committee Rebukes Torricelli
WashPost

WASHINGTON –– The Senate Ethics Committee on Tuesday "severely admonished" Democratic Sen. Robert Torricelli of New Jersey for accepting gifts from a campaign contributor and businessman that the lawmaker aided.

Torricelli quickly accepted the committee's findings and, in a contrite statement on the Senate floor, apologized for "lapses of judgment."

"I want my colleagues in the Senate to know that I agree with the committee's conclusions, fully accept their findings and take full personal responsibility," he said.

Perhaps the good people of New Jersey will get fed up with the dim controlled senate when they read this statement from Daschle. "The committee found that Torricelli "believed that he had complied with applicable Senate rules, even if he did not meet in all respects their requirements." "The time has come to put this matter behind us."

That sounds so familiar. I'm hoping residents of NJ will experience the same queaziness I do when after hearing/reading that tripe again.

Running against The Torch is republican Douglas Forrester.

Doncha just love these Dem code phrases, like "putting this all behind us"...short for "Yeah, I'm a crook, but I got off, so can we drop it"?... or the other interprtation being " damn, I hope those Pubbies don't go negative and call me the crook I am come election time.I'm toast if they do."

See, this is all important stuff to learn by reading Horowitz ;-)

Whatever happened to the 11th commandment? Or even if you don't like one particular candidate, don't vote in that race but vote for the rest of the republicans.

Geez, let's all cut off our nose to spite our face.

Only a miracle from God would remove Torricelli from the Crime FAmily of Senate Demonrats. But we can pray for this! And work for it!!! And GIVE HELP to Mr. Forrester!

from yesterday's Guild, you wrote in #136 about the photo: Do you have the name of this book, please. There's talk else where that this is some digital magic going on.

Well, I can only think offhand that it was in one of 1 or 2 books that I got from the library, because it's not in one of my own books here at home. I think (not sure) that it's in the hardcover edition of "First in His Class" by Marannis, it's not in the softcover edition, which I do have at home, but I know the photos aren't the same as in the hardcover.

I can check later, I'll run out to the library when I get out later. But I only had a couple of books recently from the library on these 2 grifters, so it's in one of those, and I should be able to identify it pretty quickly.
