Perhaps Picard gets lost too (he is most definitely a man), but it would be more fun with him.

You remember when you mother use to tell you 'don't swallow the seeds, a watermelon will sprout inside you if you do'?

LOL! Yes, I do.

I once taught a Sunday school of 3rd graders. I was to present to them a story of a poor child in the slums of Manila, who sold orange juice on a street corner (we were talking about mission work).

Anyway, one little girl asked me in all seriousness how they got the seeds out of the orange juice.

I replied that in poor countries they probably don't worry about that, and that they probably eat the seeds. I went on to explain that really poor people eat a lot of things that we probably wouldn't eat.

So then a BOY raised his hand and asked me, "So, would they eat a dead squirrel with flies all over it?"

That sure was a show stopper! LOL!

Thanks, I do appreciate the prayers. Especially right now as packing brings out the worst in me. Once I get on the plane I try to sleep or at least drowse through most/all of it. But right now the "I don't want to do this and I have plenty of time to put if off" thoughts are about to take over.

One more thing to pray about (if you don't mind): when I first got here I had JemiansTerror new basketball uniforms with me. The iron-on letters and numbers needed to be cut out in cloth and stitched on. I took it to an embroidery place and was assured there would be no problem. They never called, etc. I went last Thursday to get it and was told they were finished and would bring it up in the morning. I went back yesterday and was told they had forgotten it and would bring it up today.

I will be leaving with the uniforms BUT I would like to have the letters and numbers on it.

August 10 is designated pool time for me. A mighty big, mighty deep pool.

What is going to be the solution with all these bombings, Hamas has their goal, to run the Jews out of their land. The world is on the side of the Arafats of this world, including the UN. It is going to take some drastic measures on the part of Sharon and his nation and it is going to have to been done soon but what will it be, something has bot to be done to stop all this killing of the defenseless people. One thin I am doing about the matter is Pray for something to be done that will work. Please do the same.

Umm, the answer is probably "yes." The flies leave, you cook the meat throughly and it will nourish.

What is going to be the solution with all these bombings,

Well, after driving to church & back, I can see there's a bit more storm damage than I thought. A huge tree in the park just across the street and about 1/2 a block down from us is down; another huge tree in the park a few blocks away is down; lots of large branches. Some parts of the city are still w/o power. (We didn't lose ours at all, though.)

Check in, dude. I'm worried about ya..........

To: Chairman_December_19th_Society; jtill; Molly Pitcher; Guenevere; Jemian; illstillbe; kayak; ...
Good morning to those of you who have already checked in today and to those who stop by later. I haven't posted for awhile but have been able to read the thread and pretty much follow all of your antics.

Chair, just wanted to say thanks for our thread and Daily Update each day. I'm imagining that vacation anticipation is starting to build up for the family and especially for you after such a busy month at work. It sounds like you have a wonderful trip planned.

Speaking of vacations ... jtill, glad you enjoyed your escape to Maine and are now back safely. Molly, methinks you'll be checking in with us soon and filling us in on your adventure. Missing you in the meanwhile.

Miss Marple, I'm getting a kick reading about the comments of your grandson. You're doing a fine job with your grandmotherly duties and the kids are living the life of Riley.

Dog, I'm echoing those good doggie kudos for your investigative skills.

ClaraSuzanne, hi! Wanted to be the first to say good morning to you for when you stop by later!

Guenevere, prayers for your daughter today as she faces her medical procedure and for your son's job needs. More prayers and sympathies extended with respect to your parent woes and the latest installment in their doings with the hearing aid at Sears. I can surely understand any frustration and exasperation you may be feeling! You've certainly done your part and more and that's all that you can do. I guess the rest is up to them.

Prayers also with respect to Jemian's upcoming lengthy travels and JT's basketball uniforms, for illstillbe's precious *Sparkles*, for kayak during busy, stressful days, for Mozie's and Northern Yankee's safety through the storms and for ALL of us in need of them.
