The #3 post on this site is supposed to be a comparison of fibers. What is the comparison just orange fiber to orange fiber from where??? I really don't understand...

From Shen's test. the fiber from Danielle's necklace had "dirt and debris left on it"after she washed it. I would think these spots would show in the 400X magnification

If the comarison pictured on post #3 is of Danielle's necklace fiber where are the stains??????

That might work better than the case he's presented so far.

Only when cataloguing evidence---before the fiber was cleaned. The fiber turned out to be the same bright orange as the others.

You are correct, there were a couple other orange fibers that did not match at other places--one was wool, I believe.

I think I do recall something like that. That is odd. Why did we hear it was planned? I would think it would have been better for DW to say it was planned - no? Hmmmn...I will swithch to your side of the fence for a moment to speculate....Did he really have it planned (taking Danielle)? Neal knew he was going camping - but he did not ask Neal to go - odd. He tells police it was spur of the moment cuz he does not want them to think "pre thought out plan." Hmmmmn....Back to my side of the fence now - why did he ask the one guy to go with him?.....Back to your side - did he really ask the guy to go - I think the guy said no he did not - but that's what he infered.

See - I really do think about all angles in this - I don't see things only one way.

How can you claim someone destroyed something when you don't know what it is!

They will argue that item(s) tying Danielle to DW left those fibers. What are those items? DW isn't saying. But the quantity of orange fibers in his home indicates that is where the item came from and he hasn't provided the item to the police---they did check an afghan which did not match.

He didn't ask Neal to go along, b/c Neal was in school. And, yes, Neal know his father was going on a weekend trip a *week prior*.

The co-worker DW invited to go along with him, he phoned him on the day before (Thursday). That man said he had clients to meet with, but would call DW back. (He said he never got around to calling DW back though.)

DW lied to police.. It was not a spur of the moment.

Sorry, Since you did say you didn't think anyone caught it, let me inform you. Someone did, and brought it up. Someone brought up the obvious, that DW had CHANGED his plans and what he was discussing with police at the TIME of the CONVERSATION was about events that were SPUR OF THE MOMENT.

So, the original poster that brought it up was making an attempt to take a comment OUT OF CONTEXT to try and prove DW lied, and you just did the same thing.

Just because there are fibers in his house, doesn't necessarily mean that the SOURCE of those fibers is something that belongs to him!

He could have borrowed a jacket from someone, Brenda could have brought a blanket over during one of their afternoon trysts (my theory), they could belong to the lining of a pair of boots that someone wore over to his house...anything, anywhere, at anytime.

I wish they had been more specific about where it was found. I mean was it on the front of her neck - where it was easily seen - or was it at the back of the neck - under her hair - where it would not have been easily seen?

Shen (June 25) displayed the necklace to the jury and showed the approximate place where the wad of hair and fiber were.:

Also, there was a sidebar about Shen being allowed to give her opinion on how recently the fiber came to be there and the judge allowed it.

Kim....maybe he had planed to go earlier in the week and nobody wanted to go.....as the week progresses he decides he's not going.....Friday night comes and he can't pickup anybody.....says the hell with it....i'm going to the desert for the weekend....In his mind it was spur of the moment.

When i was single this scenerio (not the picking up women part LOL!) happened alot....

Hello, I'm not sure what side by side you're talking about. But Jennifer Shen's testimony about the necklace fiber starts June 25 in the first morning session (I believe--I was just at the Union Tribune site).

You've probably seen the excerpts I've posted in the past of all the tests that were done and that testimony is there. I haven't personally seen pics, though.

Trying to go by any statements in the Redden interview is futile. Redden interupts too much. Anyway, as you've pointed out, we have 2 witnesses to verify DW's plan to go on a trip.

Cyn - thanks for the post - but it still doesn't tell us where on her neck the clump was - how was the necklace positioned on her neck? We should not assume the clasp part was in the back in the proper position - cuz we've all seen the photos where it is off to one side in the front.
