Speaking of golf, my mother called me on her car phone all frantic. I could barely understand a word.

I finally figured out that she was going down the road and driving next to Tiger Woods. My mother lives in Palm Springs and Tiger is there for a tournement.

By the way, Tiger was driving a Buick.

Must be that Battle at Bighorn thing with Jack Nicklaus, Lee Trevino and Sergio Garcia. For what Buick is paying Tiger, he sure better be driving one of their cars!

HLL...Great graphics! Tell your Mom I "ran into Tiger" one time....literally! It was at a US Open...pouring down rain so play was suspended. We were in the players' dining room and I went around a corner and....BOOOM!...banged right into Tiger and we both fell on the floor. Unfortunately we were in front of the press gallery! My hometown paper ran a cute story with a line like...."Run into any celebs lately?". It was funny.

AGGIE MAMA and Gulf Shores Fans:
Hey! I'm right across the bay in Mobile! Yes, we've got some kind of freak "cool" spell here. It's the end of July and still in the 80's...who ever heard of such a thing? Lovely.

THOSE WHO VACATION IN GULF SHORES: GS is beautiful, but there's a secret, spectacular vacation spot nearby which the tourists have yet to discover. Moss laden oak trees growing right down to the water, each house has its own long wharf with a pavilion at the end for swimming, fishing, crabbing, hammock-ing, boating. At night you sit out on the wharf with cool gulf breezes and shrimp boats rocking out on the bay. Calm water most mornings, great for skiing if you have a boat. Private beaches, lazy days, great houses...well-stocked. Nice 3 BR, 2 BA houses runs around $1200 a week in summer, but fall and spring are best and are about 1/3 less. It's about 30 minutes from GS, more quiet...a real get-a-way. Lazy, lazy days. In my mind, the perfect vacation spot.
