Never been to Lamberts (Home of Throwed Rolls) because I don't think it's worth the wait...neither do I want to eat a roll after some stranger's tossed it across the room.

Summers are hot and humid, just like Gulf Shores and anywhere eles in the South. If I had to choose between the Gulf and Maine in the summer, I'd be in Maine in a heartbeat. I'm a spring and fall beachgoer.

The bay gets a good breeze off the Gulf all year round. Humidity is the main reason Fall and Spring are the best times. April/May/late September/October are fabulous. These homes face due west so the sunsets are to-die-for. All in all, a lovely getaway.

Angelina Jolie and Billy Bob Thornton are divvying up their goods. Among the personal effects Jolie is said to want back from her ex are five vials of her blood, which she gave him on their marriage in 2000.

According to a source quoted in London's Sun, the actress is worried that Thornton, whose mom is a psychic, will "put a curse on her" using the blood: "He is a redneck and from a background experienced in these things. She wouldn't put it past him to try something like this and it scares her to death." The paper says Thornton took Jolie's blood from their Beverly Hills home in May.

I consider myself the biggest Clinton-hater of all time but I have never seen that picture.

Odd, I was sure he never showed up for his tour with the Ark. National Guard. Remember? He wrote to Colonel Whatsisname to inform him of why he wasn't going to keep his promise? Clinton: "I despise the military". (Lordy, how did we ever elect that man president?)

I'm almost positive Clinton NEVER served in the military, not even the ROTC. So where did that picture come from???? Anyone else remember him doing ANY tour of duty??? I don't think so.

The latest look in tin-foil hats!

Mel Gibson stars in the new film 'Signs,' directed by M. Night Shyamalan. The film, about a farmer who discovers a message within an intricate pattern of circles and lines carved into his crops, opens August 2. Gibson is shown in a scene from the film with Rory Culkin(L) and Abigail Breslin, who wear foil hats to stop aliens from reading their minds. (Touchstone Pictures/Reuters)

I might have to challenge you on your first statement there! At least we should be tied for first place... This man single-handedly got me to change from Independent to permanent Republican voter, years ago. I will never in my life vote for one of those (dim) people again, thanks to BJ.

And you're right, he definitely didn't serve any time in the military; take a look at the little tag over his shirt pocket, it says "Governor".

This was some photo-op during one of his terms in Arkansas. No, he definitely at no time served his country in the military.

(I found this photo in some book and scanned it, but otherwise you're right, I've never seen it on the web, till now.)

LOL! They remind me of the Hershey's Kiss costume my daughter made for Hallowe'en one year! Very cute.

A line from Her Heinous's speech yesterday:

"They don't come up with new plans, they only come up with new public relations initiatives".

Takes one to know one.

OH that is funny!!!! Gosh, I know some folks who used to post on FR who would think that is perfectly OK. I know of some folks who think the moon landing was fake. I don't see those folks around here anymore.

Former President Bill Clinton talks to reporters at the construction site of the William J. Clinton Presidential Center and Park Wednesday, July 24, 2002, near downtown Little Rock, Ark. Clinton said the library complex will be a landmark for Little Rock.

Out for blood?

According to a source quoted in London's Sun, the actress is worried that Thornton, whose mom is a psychic, will "put a curse on her" using the blood: "He is a redneck and from a background experienced in these things. She wouldn't put it past him to try something like this and it scares her to death." The paper says Thornton took Jolie's blood from their Beverly Hills home in May.

Thornton's rep would not say whether the report was true. "There are so many erroneous stories that we're not commenting on any of them," he said. Meanwhile, Billy Bob is in Los Angeles shooting "Bad Santa," in which he plays a nefarious version of St. Nick, and Jolie is filming the followup to "Tomb Raider" in London.

Oh good grief!!!!!!!

Endeavor, I would love to sit and drink tea in my garden with you. Alas, the garden is almost toast.

Many Hella Lacy Asters have a rust type disease which has worked it's way to the top of the plant. I've never seen this in all my years of growing Asters. These are the fabulous Asters that put on such a brilliant show beginning in mid August and flower on into October.

Spent the afternoon at the U Of I Dental Diagnostic lab. Update in my next post.

Please forgive if I miss my typos in the proof reading. I'm higher than a kite on pain killer.

My dentist called this a.m. to inquire if I was feeling better. My answer was NO. He offered to get me into the U. of Iowa Diagnostic lab. I was there at noon. Saw a really delightful doc, who was quite generous with his time and attempted to explain what the problems are.

He tripled my Neuotrin Rx and gave me a different pain killer. His diagnosis was A-typical neurolgia.

Altho I feel quite groggy, I am still feeling the same pain. I staggered to the kitchen for another bottle of water a few minutes ago, and scared the begeebers out of hubby.

I asked this Doc if I should cancel my trip plans. He said I probably won't feel any better at home than I do on a trip. If I don't begin to feeling any better than this, I will not attempt to travel and live in a single room w/a man who wants all the lights out and the television turned off at 10:00 pm. I cannot fathom being awake all night with pain and not having the television on for diversion.

I will lurk here a while, but probably won't post. I have proof read this post several times and continue to find errors.
