I'm curious what Mrs. Beamer's book will be about. If it is one about how her faith has gotten her through the loss of her husband, that isn't such a bad thing. Maybe writing is helping her heal. I understand your misgivings about those that would use personal tragedy as a cash cow.

I'm so glad to hear about your shinner. Yes, I read on another thread that SLJP (now Beep) is in a coma. Prayers on the way.

Glad your face isn't broken. The last time I had a shiner was when my oldest son was 18 months old. I was trying to get him to lay down in our bed to sleep.(It was about 2 am) To make a long story short, he jumped on me and broke my nose. (I love late night trips to the ER) He did this two weeks before Christmas, the holiday photos were really lovely that year.
Be prepared to get some odd looks when you go out.
I read about Beep, she has had so many serious health difficulties, she certainly didn't need to have an accident on top of it. Prayers being sent for her recovery.

Thanks to all for good wishes for my poor ol' bruised face. It's about time to depart for our little trip to eastern Pa., so I must be saying so long for now. See you all in a few days.

I, too, think the Jenna drinking stories are embellished. Evidently she and her sister went to a bar in D.C. with their friends and the bartender reported they were all drinking.
As for Hillary, here is the thread about her making sly comments about W and his past drinking problems...HILLARY NOT SO SUBTLE BUSH BASH....

This was "forwarded from a FReeper." Registered's work?

"Enjoy Crawford TX in August you leftist bastards. Have a ball in Waco while you're at it."<p.HaHaHa, like that's possible! And I agree wholeheartedly, with your sentiments to the press.

The Jenna/Barbara stories may or may not be "embellished." Regardless, if these two would stick to drinking at private parties rather than out in the open, they wouldn't have these problems.
And shockingly, if they would not drink at all until they're 21, they wouldn't have these problems. Believe me, it can be done because I did it and it didn't hurt me one bit.
It comes down to a matter of respect for the laws, respect for your parents, and finally, whether anyone thinks it "fair" or not, respect for the position your parents are in.
I'd have never gotten away with the stuff Jenna has pulled and neither should she, for her own good. We aren't trying to raise another Chelsea here, we're trying to raise another responsible Bush. I say, yank her back home, put her under threat of her life (ie - not returning to t.u. -- texas univ, for the uninitiated out there) and threaten to make her get a minimum wage job for the fall, and stick to it. That would straighten her out right away.
OK, back to parenting my two cats, now.

Clinton delighted the crowd by playing sax with the band before dinner and telling them that "If the Iraqi army crossed the Jordan River, I would personally grab a rifle and fight, and die."
Can you believe this? I am speechless.

I'd hate to see Israel invaded, but I can't think of a better bulwark for a tank than Clinton.

The place is Point Clear, near Fairhope, AL, the Eastern shore of Mobile Bay.

I didn't even mention that I think the best part is being at the beach, but without all the sand! Also, you're still only 30 minutes from the outlet center. It's a huge bay, so sailing is great. And when you're through, you all go down to Miss Colleen's Kitchen for homemade candy and cokes. In the fall there's Polo at the Point...lots of fun. And there's a great resort with a good restaurant right down the road. After dinner you must stroll down the boardwalk and admire all the beautiful old homes and wharves along that part of the bay.
My best friend has a darling house with a fabulous wharf which I believe they're renting for the first time this year. There's also a rental agency which handles almost all the available properties over there. I can put you in touch with them if you like. He used to handle our precious cottage before we got wiped out in Hurrican George....boy, do I miss it. "Over the bay" is my favorite place in the world.

What an awesome pic. I'd love more info. I do worry about 'caines, having had relatives wiped out by Hurricaine Camille at Galveston.
However, nothing ventured, nothing gained. Do the breezes blow in the summer so you can actually move a sailboat? And what about the humidity - that's what I have the most problem with and that I don't have to deal with in Maine, yucky 'ol humidity. One of the blessings of New England is brisk, sweater clad nights and little humidity during the summer.

As for Hillary, here is the thread about her making sly comments about W and his past drinking problems...Gee, Hill must have forgotten about the vile-tempered coke head she's "married" to, not to mention his equally vile, but thankfully powerless, brother?
(Or maybe she's hoping we've all forgotten that BJ's the reason she got where she is now. Wonder how soon she ditches the 'toon name and starts going by Rrrrodham again?)

Clinton delighted the crowd by playing sax with the band before dinner and telling them that "If the Iraqi army crossed the Jordan River, I would personally grab a rifle and fight, and die."Well, for once he would have done something useful in his misguided, misbegotten life. A decent end to a wastrel, but somehow this guy and guns are about like Albore and guns, they just don't mix...
(Here he is on dress-up day with the Arkansas National Guard.)

That sounds great. I'll pass the info on to my mom. We tried about 10 times to get into Lambert's Cafe. The line went around the restaurant each time we pulled up. Is it really worth the wait? I'm not quite sure how I feel about rolls being thrown at me.
To: texasbluebell
If we could only somehow get awaaay from the bent ones.
On a cheerier note, while bumping around, I found Classic Closeouts which may be of interest to the value minded among us.
