You are all right on all counts.
Chair, you are correct about the need for civil security protection. A good example of this is the teacher tenure laws. They were created to protect a teacher from abuses by the "elite" within a community. I have seen a teacher fired because the police caught the son of a school board member rolling (TP-ing) the yard of that teacher. The teacher didn't have tenure and the contract was "not renewed." OTOH, it is difficult to fire teachers who have become incompetent for whatever reason.
There must be a way to balance these abuses. However, in our humanness, with our basic selfish tendencies, I think that day is long in coming.
In the why doesn't he shut up, too department:
The blockhead thinks the President's policies are causing the deficit not 9/11..
In the we don't need no stinkin' babysitter department:
The United Nations thinks it will make surprise visits to our prisons checking on terorist prisoners...whenever their little heart desires.
Good Morning Char...
The proponents of women's choice are up in arms because Bush has said NO to support of the UN doctrine that finances monies to China for forced abortions. (Although there had been a bill that prohibited money going to this cause, enacted by Reagan, Clinton ignored it.) Bush is now going back to the old policy that was in place before Clinton.
Isn't it amazing... that these "women" who scream choice, are supporting this awful UN policy that finances China for forced sterilization. It's the utmost in hyprocrisy.
Foggy here this morning, with sunshine later today.
My brothers and I will be heading to Oshkosh tomorrow for the EAA Airventure. Can't wait!
Packers are in training camp. It's a gret break from listening to the Brewers take a nose dive.
Corn around here is looking real good. Looks like a good crop. I here tell though that apples and bluberries are gonna be down in the North-east?
Any more news on those coal miners? My prayers go out to the families.
Morning all...
Then maybe they should become prisoners too.
This Homeland Security Bill is so full of pork, that has nothing to do with security. I expect Bush will veto it if it isn't cleaned up.
You have to wonder how anyone in good conscience could possibly create things for finance that has nothing to do with security for this Country.
Explain that garbage to the 3000 families who lost loved ones on Sept. 11th, or those soldiers who are in harms way, fighting in Afghanistan. Grrrr....
FEDEX 727 crashes in Tallahassee, Florida.....all 3 on board survive. :-)
Oh man....It just hit me what they are doing in Pa with the miners. Apparently the drill bit broke off....You know how many times that has happened to my Hubby??? Wish he could be there. I have NO doubt he could get it back FAST...no doubt at all.
Who would that would be?Daschle?...Lieberman?...Leahey?...McCain?...Feingold?...Kennedy?...Gore?...Clinton?...Gephardt? ... etc...
So many choices...so little time.
Morning, Lysie!
THE blockhead would be gore....the others are just chips off the old block. :-)
Yes... I pray for those boys in the mine, but it isn't sounding good.
Right now they say he's the front runner for the Dem's choice for President. I say... Good! Let the jerk run, and Bush will mop up on him, and Gore will make Mondale look like a strong candidate.
(Wonder how many times Gore will have to french kiss Tipper...)
Sorry... I know some of you haven't had breakfast yet.
And with that visual, I may skip eating altogether. :-)
I thought it would make a great diet plan.
Speaking of which... I couldn't sleep this morning around 2AM, so I came downstairs and did some channel surfing. On C-Span 1 was Joe Lieberman talking, and on C-span 2 was Patrick Leahey. Worse than any horror show they could put on, so I went back to bed.
BTW... where is everybody?
