AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 552) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | July 26, 2002 | All of Us

Posted on 07/26/2002 4:02:26 AM PDT by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter and we will not fail! [President Bush]

Good Morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

The Senate has altered the Homeland Security Department bill to a manner not pleasing to the Administration. The Senate would basically make it very difficult to fire or discipline workers in the new Department; the Administration wants broad exemption from current civil service rules to hire, fire, and discipline workers in the manner it sees fit. Under the Senate bill, for example, if a border guard were found to be intoxicated on the job, there would have to be 30 days notice prior to termination, and the worker would still have to be paid during that time.

The House voted to create an independent commission to look into the affairs surrounding the September 11 attack.

Algore said he supports the overthrow of Iraqi President Saddam, but that it is not a good idea to invade now.

The Justice Department has created a program - operation TIPS [Terrorism Information and Prevention System]. The program gives American truckers, train conductors, ship captains, utility employees a formal way to report suspicious activity that may be terror related. The program will act as a clearing house, sending the information to appropriate law enforcement agencies for further consideration. The ACLU is not happy about the program, saying it will create a 1984 scenario whereby Americans are spying on other Americans.

Helen Thomas has said the Administration is abandoning women's rights by withdrawing support for the international women's rights treaty, she writes in the Houston Chronicle. Conservatives feel the problems in the treaty - its capability of encouraging abortions and legalizing prostitution - outweigh any possible benefits.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Chair, HI.....everyone...

I received a letter from Linda Chavez telling that she is starting a Grass roots program against the unions using money to elect demoflops, with money taken from union members that do not agree with the demoflops. Does that make sense to you? Anyway, she was asking for money, and of course I sent some. If this is successful, then it's a good thing. If not, well.........darn.

It's late, I know, but the basement called, then my melon room, they needed tending. More fun.......

How can the senate pork up the Homeland Security bill? I'll tell you NY. Most of the senators have never wanted to wear the uniform of this country. (Not enough money it in) They have always let people like you and me and a lot of other Freepers keep them secure and free to pursue their needs of power and money. They don't give a flip about anything but their seats in the senate and they will put all the pork in the Homeland Security bill they can get away with. They can then go "home" to the sheeple and tell them what a great guy his is for giving them the fat part of the pork. Of course the senator will keep the best part of the pork for himself. The sheeple supporting him will get the "fat" money by doing road repair work, cleaning some statue or whatever he got the money for. Meanwhile he will ride their backs to another stint in the senate. The best part of the pork will be used for his 2-300 dollar a night room during campaign time, SUVs to take him from speach to speach. He'll be wined and dined and beg for money from out of state, butter up the corporations he's trying to ruin, at this moment, tease the teachers unions and all other liberal movements he can talk to. All this time he will be holding news conferences wherever he may be, telling the sheeple, back home, what a good guy he is for "bringing home the pork". At the end of his senate days he will stay in the DC area as a lobbyist for either a home grown company or a foreign one, often times being a consultant to a foreign company, showing them how to get around our laws.

I don't care a whole lot about liberal politicians, as you may well surmise.....I respect a 3-colored madam more.

I'm here for a minute, UG. What are you doing here, so late in the day. That's right, it's only 2045 where you are, huh.

What do you think the senate will do to the Torch? The ethics committee allowed people to testify against Traficant, but seem unwilling to let Chang tell what he knows about the torch? Strange, don't you think? Seems if you're one of the "good ole boys" the ehtics committee is willing to overlook your little law breaking ways. What say you?

Oh, the Torch will walk. Little Tommy Daschle will never relinquish his grasp on power, of course, the Dem governor of NJ would surely appoint another Dem senator... And the Dems don't seem to want to probe too deeply in the corruption of the Torch. The only reason they voted to get rid of Traficant in the House was because he voted for Dennis Hastert the last go-around. I think the Dem leaders in the House decided that if Traficant wasn't going to vote for dickie gephardt, then they would work on getting him out. Just MHO.

I'm back from training. I'll be here for a bit. No smokes for 9 hours makes John a cranky boy. So I'm going to have a beer or two or three before I crash for the night.

How long will you be home? Just for the weekend? Do you miss work?

I'm not home this weekend. I'm just back up in my room. And my room-mate is gone this weekend.

I do NOT miss work. They miss me, however. I've had two calls this week. I am seriously considering a career change. I had no idea how unhappy I was at work. When getting to stand on your feet for 9 hours and be verbally abused is better than your day job.... something needs some prayerful consideration.

Sounds like I'm going down the same path you are. I like what I do for a living, I am just having problems with the new management. I'm trying to stay put for the next few months, and see how things shake out, but...

I don't mind the management, but I'm at the point where I am very tired of the job. I'm thinking it's time to move to something else. And this experience with making 20% of my normal salary (and making bills without a problem) certainly changed my perspective. I would take a large pay cut (and can afford to) to have a job I love as much as I used to my current job.

Good luck with your management problems. The only solution I ever found to management problems was to give myself a raise and go somewhere else. Your milage may vary.
