AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 552) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | July 26, 2002 | All of Us

Posted on 07/26/2002 4:02:26 AM PDT by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter and we will not fail! [President Bush]

Good Morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

The Senate has altered the Homeland Security Department bill to a manner not pleasing to the Administration. The Senate would basically make it very difficult to fire or discipline workers in the new Department; the Administration wants broad exemption from current civil service rules to hire, fire, and discipline workers in the manner it sees fit. Under the Senate bill, for example, if a border guard were found to be intoxicated on the job, there would have to be 30 days notice prior to termination, and the worker would still have to be paid during that time.

The House voted to create an independent commission to look into the affairs surrounding the September 11 attack.

Algore said he supports the overthrow of Iraqi President Saddam, but that it is not a good idea to invade now.

The Justice Department has created a program - operation TIPS [Terrorism Information and Prevention System]. The program gives American truckers, train conductors, ship captains, utility employees a formal way to report suspicious activity that may be terror related. The program will act as a clearing house, sending the information to appropriate law enforcement agencies for further consideration. The ACLU is not happy about the program, saying it will create a 1984 scenario whereby Americans are spying on other Americans.

Helen Thomas has said the Administration is abandoning women's rights by withdrawing support for the international women's rights treaty, she writes in the Houston Chronicle. Conservatives feel the problems in the treaty - its capability of encouraging abortions and legalizing prostitution - outweigh any possible benefits.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Fox News reporting that the suspect is probably a homeless man who slept on the sofa last night where the girl disappeared from and he came back later (5 hours)wet and muddy. Claims he went for a swim in the middle of the night!

Isn't it interesting what is going on behind closed doors that makes Inouye want to quit the committee! I would LOVE to see the Torch burnt! He ran the absolutely nastiest campaign for Senate!

What happened???

Yes, I saw that article about wanting 666 trees at the Liebrary.

Someone said it was The Lumber of the Beast.

Hahahahaha!!

Methinks this is not the first time Torricelli has been popped for such doings, is it not? Poetic justice would be that he gets tossed out for taking that clock and TV set--"The clock on the wall says it's time to retire, go home and watch TV, Bob!" Har!

Really?....666...
...I avoid that number at all costs?
...sounds like he has no fear, eh.

But what's with the name Seamus?......I thought that was just a good ole Irish name????
What is sinister about it?

The Govt has some receipts where a TV was delivered to his home and stuf like that. Chang is asking to testify before that Ethics Committee, which the Senators don't want.

MM - LOL! God one!

Guennie - mail call in a minute!

W. - have I said how happy I am you are around here again? It's true!

That reminds me...I have a vague recollection of this old tv program. Love to see torch get the buzzer.

Bzzzzt!!! Bud Collier, "Oh I'm sorry Mr. Torricelli, but your time is up. We have some lovely parting gifts for you, compliments of the US Justice Department." :-)

Good day, all ... just got back from the airport ... where I picked up my niece, again ... she'll be here until September ....

I can not believe there is another missing six year old ... nor that a small plane crashed in northern MD ... it was reported once and then *poof* ... no more updates ....

Going to go get caught up ...

Revamped, indeed. But who's seen more scalpel time, her or Michael Jackson? Perhaps some things are best left unknown...

CS, instant enough? I guess!
