Only problem is, if my memory serves me correct, I counted six uniform abrasions in this semi-circle. Where did you get the illustration from?

Ok, I thought the top mark looked like one fingernail could have dug in, & scratched...it's not as clean cut as the other ones.

I saw it too. I called them (DW's arm marks) an arc, but I agree it looks like a semicircle. Looks almost like a metric tool must of made those evenly spaced impressions. I just don't know enough about mechanic's tools to fit it in with anything I can relate it to. One poster suggested a chain. What about some kind of bike chain-you know the kind- with brads and holes that fit into bike wheel sprockets. -I'm just wondering-
