As hollywood continues to beleive acting qualifies you as an expert on current affairs, I find myself not being able to patronize their movies. I once heard a quote that it used to be that fame brought celebrity, but now celebrity brings fame. here is my list of hollywood idiots who I cannot bring myself to watch in a movie or anymore. Lets add yours to the list:
Julia Roberts (top of my list, cannot stand the wench)
Richard Dreyfuss
Cammryn Mannhein
Rosie O Donut
Sharon Stone (not for political views, just a horrid actress)
Rob Reiner (anything he is involved in)
Tom Cruise (stero typical hollywood flake)
Nicole Kidman (see Above)
Bill Maher (enough said)
Help me expand my list
An obscure actress , upon recieving an award, stated that in days of yore, actors were considered rogues and vagabonds, and that we should still considered ourselves in that light. she was insightful beyond her years.
That doesn't mean I won't watch a movie he is in, whichever tense is is.

Try it and see how little you miss.
Thank you. I do avoid Alec Baldwin, 'cause he's just annoying and I don't think he has any talent. But I like to be entertained, and some people are just darned funny and darned good actors/entertainers.
If I gave up everything in my life which might possibly have some liberal involved with its making, I'd have a very small world indeed...
Red Dawn was a great movie...
Only if you want to nail them because of their political affiliation, apparently...
I think I feel my first vanity post coming on...
True story: Once, at a local video store, they'd just started showing "Barbarella" on the video screen. I'd never seen the film, and only saw an astronaut walking in space, then going back to the spaceship. Once inside, the camera zooms in real close on the helmet, which is all silvery. The silver sloooooowly recedes to the bottom, showing Fonda's face through the now-transparent glass. I finally recognized her about two-thirds of the way down, but still didn't know what movie it was. The second the silver was all gone, I blurted out, loud enough that everyone in the place could hear me, "Hey! Jane Fonda's head in a jar! I like this movie already!"
And you know what? Nobody in the place got upset. Pretty crowded store, too. Everybody laughed. Then the opening credits started running, and I felt like a dipstick for not being able to guess what movie it was.
I think about that incident now and then. Especially when some two-bit, blow-dried, impossibly good-looking freak drools words of "sincere concern" and implies that we, the little people, ought to respect those words based on our respect for said freak. That just ain't the truth. Of course, you freepers already know that. :)
It does matter, because the more money you pay to see them gives the appearance of agreement to them. Thus encouraging the actor to continue to spout off. By avoidance of their performances, the impression is given of disapproval to the views the actors express.
Well put. Politics is something people disagree about. Win hearts and minds through reason about the issues. Silly boycotting is a waste of time and energy. I don't want to keep track of the political correctness of my soup, toilet paper, music or movie actor.
You really think they are going to notice your absence at a blockbuster movie, and know it is because of a rally they attended two years ago? Get real.
You apparently missed his appearance as co-host of the 2000 Tony Awards (Rosie O'Donnell other co-host). (which received record-breaking low ratings, BTW!! LOL)
Every other ad-lib out of his mouth was a b*tchy put-down of Bush, Guiliani and Republicans. He is one MEAN little queen, and it was hard to tell if he was dyke-ier than Rosie or vice versa.
But what if the movie contains both an outspoken liberal actor and an outspoken conservative actor? (Yes, I know, there aren't many, but they do exist)? Does the liberal trump the conservative? More to the point, do you really think anyone involved in Hollywood says, "Wow, Men in Black II isn't making as much money as we'd hoped - people must be staying home because of Lara Flynn Boyle's stance against the Catholic Church!"
As I said, I can certainly see avoiding or even speaking out against films or television series that espouse liberal views. When Tim Robbins writes, directs, and stars in a film told from a blatantly liberal perspective, it makes sense for conservatives not to attend the film. But when Tim Robbins plays a bit part in a film like, say, Mars Attacks!, and conservatives say "Ugh, Tim Robbins is in that movie - I refuse to see it", it just seems reactionary and more than a little silly.
