Movies or shows I won't watch because of who is in them

Posted on 07/19/2002 7:11:34 AM PDT by robjna

As hollywood continues to beleive acting qualifies you as an expert on current affairs, I find myself not being able to patronize their movies. I once heard a quote that it used to be that fame brought celebrity, but now celebrity brings fame. here is my list of hollywood idiots who I cannot bring myself to watch in a movie or anymore. Lets add yours to the list:

Julia Roberts (top of my list, cannot stand the wench)

Richard Dreyfuss

Cammryn Mannhein

Rosie O Donut

Sharon Stone (not for political views, just a horrid actress)

Rob Reiner (anything he is involved in)

Tom Cruise (stero typical hollywood flake)

Nicole Kidman (see Above)

Bill Maher (enough said)

Help me expand my list

An obscure actress , upon recieving an award, stated that in days of yore, actors were considered rogues and vagabonds, and that we should still considered ourselves in that light. she was insightful beyond her years.

Chicks I'd like to nail?
Denise often seem to play hyper-intelligent roles (Starship Troopers, The World Is Not Enough), suggesting she might actually be so IRL. Perhaps another non-liberal, though her taste in grooms is somewhat lacking.

Julia Roberts!!! hahaha thank you!!! I have yet to meet a Scorpio who is not conniving, jealous, bold-faced lying, or just deliberately screwing up something.

I didn't see "Gossford Park" at the theater but rented the video (couldn't wait for it to come to TV).

We saw it last week. Another great movie...

I love the original.

I never saw the original. But I have a friend who says the new one is better...

Why is it narrow minded. Entertainment is a choice. I choose to play with my kids for entertainment. I choose not to allow trashy, harmful images and movies into my brain. And I choose not to contribute to the wealth of certain individuals who are causing harm to this nation.

Why has narrow mindedness become an insult and dirty word. Narrow mindedness allowed me to marry a wonderful, beautiful woman. I am very narrow minded when operating a vehicle or handling my finances.

Free thinking and open mindedness are excuses to not make hard choices.

Go right ahead and make your own choices. As you should.

But my interpretation of "live, liberty and the pursuit of happiness," allows me to read the things I want, watch the things I want, eat the things I want and buy the things I want because I enjoy them.

Charlton Heston said that there are more closeted conservatives in Hollywood

That was Chuck's nice way of saying Hollywierdos believe in, gun control, redistribution of wealth, blah, blah, blah...........for everyone except themselves.

Chuck Heston--my hero, for sure (and a real hunk, even as a geezer--LOL!)

I'm glad you mentioned Cruise because I couldn't stand it yesterday when Rush was promoting "Vanilla Sky", even as to go so far as to give the Pay For View schedule!

OMIGOD-- was THAT the film he was talking about? Oh lord love a duck... I turned Rushbo on half way through his waxing poetic on some 'deeply conservative, moral film' and I was curious as to what he was talking about. He then mentioned Tom Cruise and I thought he must have been talking about Minority Report.

Vanilla Sky? Good Lord... Now, I admit I haven't seen this film--but the previews made it look as bad as Eyes Wide Shut. I can't stand Cruise anyway (though not as much for his politics than for his absolutely vapid, dull screen presence.)--so this movie looked wretched.

Okay... Rush hates the Ramones, but loved Vanilla Sky. The guy has officially lost it.

"But it's still quite narrow minded just to rule out a film just because of the star's political agenda.

I had some free tickets so I went to see "Lord of the Rings". I found myself looking at my watch wondering when it was going to be over. I used to be a big "Star Wars" fan and I forgot to see the last one. I asked one of my gun buddies their opinion of "Reign of Fire" and they said it was stupid.

If I need a little adrenaline, I'll go to the gun range.

Narrow minded? I prefer to say that I have high standards.

Bella_Bru, I didn't say there weren't any "good" Scorps; I just haven't found one yet. And I've been so damaged by one that when I know one is circling me, I don't move.

Yeh, I heard Otis was a closet Marxist, but only when he was sober.

Maybe that's why he drank.

I feel the same way but I do not enjoy watching Alec Baldwin movies because of my personal dislike of him as a human being. I am not required to like a movie because a critic told me I should. I don't care how well of a performance Martin Sheen is giving it is still Martin Sheen and all I can think about is that he is an America Hater.
