Why is it narrow minded. Entertainment is a choice. I choose to play with my kids for entertainment. I choose not to allow trashy, harmful images and movies into my brain. And I choose not to contribute to the wealth of certain individuals who are causing harm to this nation.
Why has narrow mindedness become an insult and dirty word. Narrow mindedness allowed me to marry a wonderful, beautiful woman. I am very narrow minded when operating a vehicle or handling my finances.
Free thinking and open mindedness are excuses to not make hard choices.

Go right ahead and make your own choices. As you should.
But my interpretation of "live, liberty and the pursuit of happiness," allows me to read the things I want, watch the things I want, eat the things I want and buy the things I want because I enjoy them.

I guess I see a difference in refusing to watch a trashy movie because it is trash, and refusing to watch a good movie that has a good storyline, because someone who is playing a role in it spends their free time on a cause I don't like .
You can still do that. No one is saying you can't. But don't fool yourself into thinking you are sending a coherent message that furthers your cause, and you may be missing out on some joy.
Disneyland and Disney movies, for example are wonderful things that I enjoyed very much as a kid. What difference does it make to your kid if they give medical benefits to unwed domestic partners of employees at the admin office? Not a bit. I would never deprive my kid of all the fun things at Disney because of politics. Their product is wonderful, and what is childhood without wonderful things?
