One reason I like to go on business trips is because we try to get in a "name" restaurant at least once every trip. When I was at Comdex in Vegas last year, we had a power dinner at Delmonico's (Emeril's steakhouse at the Venetian hotel.) Oh my, we though we'd all died and gone to heaven. I've also been to Emeril's Fish House restaurant at the MGM Grand in Vegas, my sister and I had the tasting menu. Yum, yum, yum. We also stopped in Vegas for dinner on a trip a couple of years ago, and ate at Border Grill, the Too Hot Tamales restaurant. Very good food. The Tres Leches cake was one of the most decadent things I have ever eaten in my life. And lastly, on my next trip to NYC, I want to eat at one of Mario Batali's restaurants. His food intrigues me...Now I'm really hungry, I have to eat dinner here, and I think we're getting sandwiches. :(

I told my company that I would not travel anymore about 8 years ago. I've missed out on some of the really good restaurants that have popped up since then. (and that is the only darn thing I missed)

Now that I have an employer that can send me to jail for saying "no", I may get the opportunity to try some of them.

With all that's been going on I haven't had a chance to tell all that I intended about our trip to FL. Our last night there, after the conference was over, we went to a Ruth's Chris Steak House ......

...... I'm not sure I've completely recovered from that meal yet ...... WOW!

Everything on the menu is a la carte ..... but everything comes in portions generous enough to share.

We started off with an appetizer of barbecued shrimp served on a bed of garlic mashed potatoes ...... delicious!

Then we shared a salad which was very good ..... and was huge, even divided between us.

I got a filet which was cooked to perfection ..... hubby got the "Cowboy Special" .... a 22 ounce rib eye ..... i.e., half a cow! .... it was humongous! Both steaks were fantastic .... fork tender and very flavorful.

As a side, we got au gratin potatoes, which were really more like a cross between scalloped potatoes and au gratin ..... and they were scrumptious .....

..... Then to top off the meal (even though we hadn't cleaned our plates) we really splurged and shared a piece of the most heavenly Key lime pie you have ever tasted .... it was totally delectable and the perfect ending to a truly sumptious feast.

All the food was cooked to perfection, the service was impeccable ..... and the tab was mucho grande but worth it!

I think it would be fatal to eat there often but it was one fantastic meal!
