That's really fantastic. Dialogue is one of the most difficult things to write...You have to get the flow just right, and here, it looks like you did just that.
I'm in the process of outlining my own book right now. For years and years I've had stories floating around in my head, and I figured it's time I finally started writing some down.
I wish you the best of luck....that was a fantastic excerpt.

Torrid affairs with Parisian bankers? Are we going to have to act as chaperones?
Just the other day I asked Mr. M if he could remember the last time we went to a movie, and he couldn't. Of course, we're out here in the sticks, but I have to say I haven't heard lately of any movies I really, really want to see, anyway. "Jean de Florette" and "Manon of the Spring" inspired my desire to visit Provence. Alas, I haven't made it there yet.

I can't thank you enough. Great words to hear.
I wish you the best of luck. The writing is pure joy; trying to get published is pure hell. The only thing that keeps me going is an ingrained bias against the concept of "quit" and the wonderful positive comments I get from folks who read my writing. My one bit of advice is, don't be she about letting others read your work, it may be the only reward you get from the experience -- at least at first.

Ha! Believe me, the
least of your worries is whether I'm going to have a torrid affair with a French banker! LOL!
My friend and I just can't decide where we want to tour outside Paris. So we think we'll just leave some time open and decide after we've been in Paris for a week. We may hear of a great festival or a region where the fall colors are terrific. I love unstructured trips and that time of year we ought to be able to just head out without reservations. Wish y'all were going to be around longer and could go "adventurin'" with us. But I do look forward to meeting up with you and DH for some good food & wine!

If only we were going to Geneva this month:
Chelsea Clinton, daughter of former U.S. President Bill Clinton, joins a meeting with officials of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva on July 10, 2002. Clinton, who is studying Master of Philosophy in International Relations at Oxford, began July 1, a one-month internship to work on a new WHO initiative on healthy environments for children.

Ol' Crusty Jr.

Denis Aitken (R), Senior Policy Adviser to the Director-General of the World Health Organization, was not impressed.

Have you thought of Reims? It's a fairly short train ride from Paris and a visit to the Mumm champagne caves is lots of fun (free samples!) - check out the city's
web site. I tried to interest Mr. M in running the Reims marathon on 10/20, but he decided that if it runs one this fall, it will be Huntsville in December.

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton has an early birthday present for her husband she's giving him her communications director, Jim Kennedy. Although the ex-President won't celebrate his big day until next month, Kennedy is moving to New York this week to replace Julia Payne, who currently fills that role. Aw, gee, Hill'ry, Ah was hopin' for a dozen golf balls, or a hooker, or somethin' Ah could really use! source

Black Beauty II did such a superb job with the Middle East situation, why shouldn't she help out with the WHO?

Campaign finance reform? We don't need no steenin' campaign finance reform ... Bill 'n' Hill to appear at a $20,000 per couple fundraiser July 27 in the Hamptons, the same weekend Andrew Cuomo tries to glom onto that Kennedy mystique at his own fundraiser. Story in Neal Travis column,

Ol' Crusty Junior with Ol' Crusty's mantra.
I see there's no engagement ring yet.

"I thought I would sort of say "thank you" by posting a small except from my novel, Aphrodite's Whisper." I like it. Is it finished? Have you submitted drafts yet?
To: lodwick
Thanks! Again.
