Mad Dawgg
Don't be put off by my mention of the 1000 pages for the Lucia books. That's only the compilation of all 6 or so of those books. Individually it's definitely not daunting!
Description: Enter the world of Mitford and you'll never want to leave! Join Father Tim, an Episcopal rector, as he contends with life in this sleepy village suddenly awakened by a maverick dog the size of a Buick, a hostile young runaway, and an attractive new neighbor. Add to this a potentially valuable painting, arson, and unrequited love and you have an unforgettable novel, rich in characters, charm, and wit.
