The neighbors sound like some of my tenants, but with more initiative. Thanks for the laughs. ;-)

Well, tell the Mrs. that I appreciate that as much as your wish for good luck. It's a funny business; I've had two agents compare my writing to two established writers: Nicholas Sparks and John Grishom, only to have the agents then say that they don't like those authors! Go figure. I also had an agent compare my writing to that of Belva Plain who has had 12 best sellers, but she lost interest. I don't get it, but I keep on keeping on.

It's awful quiet around here...

I know it's a grasshopper, but I couldn't find any cricket pictures.

Nice neighbors. Sounds like my neice's, who her friends in the hood and she have decided are drug dealers, or are in the witness protection program.

Thirty minutes later.

We just got a huge sneeze from God, which plunked a tree limb onto Mr.House's head! No visible damage and the limb has been chainsawed into baby limbs for the chipper/shredder.

A pleasant evening is wished for one and all. Happy reading. JL

;-)

For many this is dinner prep, dinner, or perhaps cocktail time.

I hope this does not offend anyone but it kind of reminds me of my mother.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The old lady was standing at the railing of the cruise ship holding her hat on tight so that it would not blow off in the wind.
A gentleman approached her and said: "Pardon me, madam. I do not intend to be forward, but did you know that your dress is blowing up in this high wind?"
"Yes, I know," said the lady, "I need both hands to hold onto this hat."
"But, madam, you must know that your privates are exposed!" said the gentleman in earnest.
The woman looked down, then back up at the man and replied, "Sir, anything you see down there is 85 years old. I just bought this hat yesterday!
True. I wish it were cocktail time for me, too! ;-)
Oh, that's better.
I am a huge fan of the Evanovich series about Stephi Plum...I bought Hard 8 the day it came out and it is rare for me to buy a Hardcover book but just had to see what happened with Ranger. Are you a Ranger Babe or Morelli cupcake...I like Morelli.....a lot....I laugh so hard when I read those books. Grandma Mazur just kills me.
Have you checked out Evanovich.com....Great website and lots of fun. I hope you refer this series to your sis, Timeout....Her booklist looks a bit heavy-she needs to lighten up once in a while...lol...
P.S. Are you Stewart"s mom or aunt?
I do remember when you got run over by the neighbor. Didn't you get knocked down in the bank the same day or around the same time? Seems like you had a bunch of calamities all at once....lol....
Just keep trying. I am sure you have read of many now famous authors who took years to find an agent and get published.
Any agent who says, "You write like John Grisham, but I don't like him." is NUTZ.
Be very glad that this agent didn't accept the manuscript. God was looking out for her best interests.
To me, A Time to Kill, is the best - although, all are wonderful reads.
A young man excitedly tells his mother he's fallen in love and is
going to get married. He says, "Just for fun, Mom, I'm going to
bring over two other female friends in addition to my fiancée,
and you have to try and guess which one I'm going to marry."
The next day, he brings 3 beautiful women into the house and sits
them down on the couch and they chat for a while. He then says,
"Okay, Mom. Guess which one I'm going to marry."
She immediately replies, "The red-head in the middle."
"That's amazing! You're right, how did you know?"
His mother folds her arms across her chest and says, "I don't
like her."
You have a great memory. You are correct, on May 5 of last year a numbnut at the Detroit Edison payment office opened a door that made me lose my balance and smack my hand on a metal pole, thus cracking a tiny bone in my hand. That was a couple weeks after the bee sting and the olive oil incident on my favorite sweater, which Miss Marple fixed perfectly.
Fortunately this year is going really great. Knock wood.
