There was a guy on Fox News earlier speaking for the public schools in Elk Grove where they want to continue saying the Pledge of Allegiance despite the court order - anyway, he is on our side, but kept getting a fundamental point wrong. He kept saying that the freedom to fight out this issue in the courts instead of the streets is a good lesson about our democracy for the students. He kept talking about our democracy. I wanted to ask him to recite the Pledge of Allegiance and ask him what "and the Republic for which it stands" means...
