Well, it's been 4 years since I first found Free Republic. I have always felt like I belonged here and have really enjoyed the banter back and forth between us members. I am afraid all this is now over. I am really suprised and shocked at it's suddenness. Before I leave I want to thank a freeper from Michigan who sent me a DVD player last year to give to my kids for Christmas. You reaffirmed my faith in humanity.
I know this thread will be deleted before many people get to read it, but I just can't go without saying a final word. Every since 911 the 'vibe' here at FR has been decidedly hostile. I guess it was a matter of time before the newbie moderator got around to weeding me out for my sometimes unpopular views. So I join the ranks of A+Bert and so many others who gave FR a interesting flavor. I will miss coming here 20 times a day and keeping up on things. But without posting priviledges there is just no point. I must go find another conservative group to try to be a part of.
In the future, when a freeper who has been a loyal member since August 1998 crosses the line, how about a note instead of banning? Would that have been too much? I may have gotten out of line, how is beyond me, but if such a tresspass would have been pointed out I would gladly have refrained from doing so again. It is just not right to just ban an account with no explaination. Especially when the freeper has been here 4 years. I have no idea what I am going to do with my days now that I no longer have FR. Well, I guess I have said my part. It is a sad day when one has to leave family and friends. I feel like some of you were just that. But apparently I am no longer wanted around here. I bid my good day to you all and hope that karma pays it's respects to those who do injustice.
Why would you "hate" this feature?
If you don't like it, don't use it.
I happen to like the "view replies" (to a specific reply) feature.
If any thing, I don't use it much strictly out of habit -- having become so accustomed to the "old way" the forum worked, I still load the whole thread and scroll through all the replies, forgettining that I can look at specific replies only.

I do believe that is why rintense kept it on the level of what the particular "party leader" was espousing that turns you own. Or at least that was my understanding. Although an awesome message with good looks will hit a homerun everytime.
BTW, there was a suggestion put forth some months ago that I thought was great idea and wondered if it was ever given any consideration and that is to have a forum, maybe even on a different web page titled "too hot for FR" where banned posts are sent and may be viewed, perhaps for a small membership fee. Several folks seemed to think it was a good idea at the time. Would doing something like that in any way effect the status of this site?
I wondered what conditions required a new screen name. That is all. Don't be so paranoid. LOL!
I still want to empahasize my objections to sneakypete's comment. I think it is out of bounds.
I NEVER said this was the ONLY reason you support Bubba-2. There is no doubt at all to any rational person who looks in on the DITL threads that fantasies are a BIG part of the attraction from most of the posters there,though. Ray Charles would have to wear sunglasses to keep it from blinding him more. I suspect most of you fantasize about being married to a rich,powerful,and handsome man who is faithful to you,and project these fantasies off onto Bubba-2. Whatever the reason or thinking behind it,I don't really care. I DO care about the hyprocisy most of you exhibit when someone mentions this,though. You go absolutely rabid.

They're getting to be pretty much commodity items in the stores these days, and their market penetration is virtually universal. The local Wally World carries one line for less than 70 bucks. You'll probably be able to get one as a prize in your box of Captain Crunch soon.
None of that stuff is welcome here. Those who believe in that stuff probably shouldn't be here. So why would we set up an area to put their stuff?

Sneakypete...although you weren't guilty of the quote put up, and I am sorry about my confusion, I would like to say that you maintain a hostile attitude to those who support the President, and your attitude that we are dim bulbs who don't have a clue is, to say the least, a little off-putting.

Based on his comments here, I suspect Pete has been a failure in life and has a touch of Bush-envy. Pete knows deep down that THIS kick ass commander in chief would lock his heels in a heartbeat.
