Dear Mr. Robinson,
I have been a loyal member of the Free Republic since before the 2000 election. I have been a Conservative since the early days of Clinton. When I found this site, I thought "Thank God, people who think like me." I have continued to think this until the more recent days. Now, it seems that there are threads left and right bashing our President.
Why? There are things the President has done which I don't agree with but my loyality still lies with him. I am not sure if these "Bush-Bashers" fail to see the reality that with politics comes comprimise or it is something worse. I feel there is a cancer in the Free Republic. Some are eating their own.
I feel that some of these people are members of the dreaded democratic underground disguised as disgruntled conservatives. They are only here to stir up trouble. What's worse, they are doing just that. I am not sure what I think you should do.
As a conservative, I believe in our moral code but I also realize the reality of politics. I back our President but if he were doing something unsavory (like lying under oath,) I could not support him. This is unlike the left's clintonista dogma. What President Bush is doing is not betraying the conservative cause. He is using politics to confound the left. Those who do not understand this are either leftists themself or unable to separate themselves from their zealousness.
This is your show. You choose who gets to be a member and who does not. Those who break your rules are banished from the kingdom. I am not discouraging free speech, but this is free speech in your forum. These Bush-Bashers are brining us down. When this infighting happened in 1992, Bill Clinton got elected. let's not let that happen again.
Yours,
Big Guy and Rusty 99
Yep.
To the back of the class, Dan from Michigan....
You've failed to learn Lesson One from the new GOP Primer: move on. Move on. Move on. Nothing is worth remembering or dwelling on or rewarding or punishing or rectifying. Move on, Dan from Michigan, move on.
Signing CFR was good. Voting for CFR was good. Voting for CFR was bad. There was no wrong answer, Dan from Michigan. It doesn't matter either way. Move on.
I'm sickened to the depths of my soul by the duplicity of George W. Bush. His father was a traitor to the Reagan Revolution and he himself cannot even spell the word. He is a pol. A creation of Carl Rove and a man without a center. He will do anything for political expediency and is incapable of even following the lead of a man like Ronald Reagan. I doubt W could even recite to us a FEW of the great accomplishment of Reagan. We are adrift as a nation, caught up in self destructive naval contemplation and "what did who know and when did they know it?" rather than aggresively prosecuting a real war on terrism. And why are we in this mess. Because we have no leader. We have an empty suit for a president.
Get over yourself.
Steve Forbes or Bill Gates when it comes to monetary policy.
I think voters are sick of RINO's in the Republican party, there is talk of rooting RINO's out by requiring them to list their conservative agendas and that makes me hopeful for the future of the Party if the guys begining to demand this are not stymied.
Whoever wrote that has not visited many Libertarian threads.
Detroit, along with Philadelphia, St. Louis, and Chicago, are hotbeds of Democratic vote fraud. That's why Zogby is always right and everyone else is always wrong. Zogby, a Democrat, in the last few days of the campaigns, gets the numbers hot from the Democratic defrauders, his polls run with everyone else's until right before an election, then his numbers deviate to reflect his inside information, and of course, he's closest.
Go ahead, flame away, but I'm not ready to throw in the towel yet. Bush is essentially a good man but he's getting (and listening to) some very bad advice. Tonight he announced what amounts to almost a complete restructuring of the federal government, except for the FBI and CIA, which is where all the problems concerning 9/11 originated.
I'm wondering who IS whispering in his ear, if it isn't Karl Rover or Karen Hughes, who reportedly just found out about this plan this week.
But that's another thread. The point here is, rather than giving the "creeper freepers" what they want, and getting ourselves in a dither, we should be emailing congress or discussing more important issues. I believe the system still does work, after a fashion.
For the time being, we still have the right to voice, and post our opinions, and we should exercise that right, as effectively as possible. Jim is right when he talks about working together for conservative causes. I doubt two people on FR think exactly alike on EVERYTHING, but we can make a difference, by convincing other people to think, and take action. But wasting time and cyber space worrying about people who criticize Bush doesn't advance that agenda.
Is monetary policy your only conservative test?
I'm a walking, talking advertisement for the cause Mom. I took my granddaughter when she was a year old to Bushs inaugaration, the Freeper Ball and the March for Life. :-}
Naughty, Howlin!
Heheh...
