Dear Mr. Robinson,
I have been a loyal member of the Free Republic since before the 2000 election. I have been a Conservative since the early days of Clinton. When I found this site, I thought "Thank God, people who think like me." I have continued to think this until the more recent days. Now, it seems that there are threads left and right bashing our President.
Why? There are things the President has done which I don't agree with but my loyality still lies with him. I am not sure if these "Bush-Bashers" fail to see the reality that with politics comes comprimise or it is something worse. I feel there is a cancer in the Free Republic. Some are eating their own.
I feel that some of these people are members of the dreaded democratic underground disguised as disgruntled conservatives. They are only here to stir up trouble. What's worse, they are doing just that. I am not sure what I think you should do.
As a conservative, I believe in our moral code but I also realize the reality of politics. I back our President but if he were doing something unsavory (like lying under oath,) I could not support him. This is unlike the left's clintonista dogma. What President Bush is doing is not betraying the conservative cause. He is using politics to confound the left. Those who do not understand this are either leftists themself or unable to separate themselves from their zealousness.
This is your show. You choose who gets to be a member and who does not. Those who break your rules are banished from the kingdom. I am not discouraging free speech, but this is free speech in your forum. These Bush-Bashers are brining us down. When this infighting happened in 1992, Bill Clinton got elected. let's not let that happen again.
Yours,
Big Guy and Rusty 99

Man if you would have heard me on FR Radio tonight you probably would have blown a gasket or something!!! ,You may not notice but their are a number of pretenders. The reason you don't notice is they appear to be saying what you want to hear but if you read a little closer you will realize they are pulling everyone's chain.

I think you're right about infiltrators. I could understand reasonable people questioning some compromises, but there are some who never proclaim the good things that happen and only focus on the issues that end up being compromised, as our form of government will force the party with the executive branch to have a few issues that will have to be compromised on. And even then they tell outrageous lies, like "Bush ignored WTC warnings", etc. These are talking points of the left. Some also seem mighty willing to give up freedoms for security and criticize Bush for not turning this country into a police state so as to protect them from future acts of terror or crime. With apologies to Ben Franklin, to the extent that they want domestic government expanded, I'm not sure they deserve neither security nor freedom. Very strange that we have some that are complaining that the government is not more omnipotent.
I'm neutral on the "canning" part, I think the administrators have known what they're doing. I just wanted to agree that there are some here that I question their motives and instead of getting in flame wars on every thread with them, I think another "hear, hear" post on this thread would be more effective.

Gee you du people always give yourself away with labels you paint the President with. I know its hard to post here without all your bouncing icons like you have at the du that are like 4 year olds toys.
I like shrub cause when I say it, 2 or 3 liberal plants pop up. Happens everytime. So again how is the du tonight? Slow as normal?

Saber is way animated.
And BobJ, maybe this should be settled once and for all at the Convention in Las Vegas... maybe an arm wrestle or something.
To: Bob J
So do I! Both ways is right! You can debate and stay civil! That's what has been missing IMHO!

"I think we should ban people that have two names within their screen name..." Gee, I could be in serious trouble here with three names.

the point being that this is a conservative forum, you've got libertarians and other purists around. no matter how big FR is, we are still a very small number of people, FReepers tend to have VERY strong political opinions and are very vocal about it. Bush is a moderate, I'm not suprised at all by the Bush bashers, they want a pure conservative agenda which I believe will not come from this president.

Where are all these new names coming from? I don't recognize a lot of the people here including the person who posted this!

Yo Tex, Please move away from Texas so when I get there it will be less liberal. 12 years old right? LOL
To: Big Guy and Rusty 99
Didn't you have a similar rant a few months ago, only it was about social conservatives being bashed?
I mention it because I have read here in the last day or so that religious right supporters are prime Bush bashers.
Apologies if I have you mixed up with someone else.

But, I think he has a game plan to thwart dems by taking away all their agenda. Soooo...where does that leave us conservatives? Will we be left, winning back the house and senate, at the cost of holding the bag of dem and liberal gains for years to come? If you think George Bush is playing politics so he can win another four years, you're totally misread him.
And btw, I am a conservative, too.
