I'll give you this, partially. Realize that sometimes it has a lot to do with the defensive side. The wings had several power plays with 0 shots too.
2) Lindstroms and Drapers goals should have never happened. Irbe looked like he had money on Detroit with those save attempts
That's a paltry excuse. Irbe got beat on those goals by great shots. They were not shots that just fluttered by his glove, but bullets that I bet clocked more than 90+mph. Any goalie would have had a hard time. And Irbe did a great job this game, again, at keeping the score low. He made two spectactular saves on Federov.
3) Lindstoms and Drapers goals should have never been needed. The score should have been 5-1 at that point. 3 open net shots missed that are normally made 9 out of 10 times. Plus some other lucky saves by Irbe.
Three? I think I could agree with you on Federov's, but I don't get where the other two come from.
The only thing that's pissing me off about this series is how the refs are calling it. I saw atleast 3 penalties that I believe where lame.
They are calling the game way to tight. True that the refs and league sat down with the teams prior to game 1 and told they would call it tight. But even Melrose was saying they were being way to tight. The worst call of them all was the "slash" that Carolina took at the end. How often, outside of a blatant slash or highstick to the face does a penalty get called with under 2 minutes to go in a SCF? Never.
