Well said! Chandra was the cursed child of cursed children. Society up-ended a long time ago and this is just the fruit of it. The parents failed their daughter. God killed Eli for the same...and his sons. Well, then I guess that settles that. A young 24-year old girl with her entire life ahead of her is apparently murdered and her body is left in the woods to rot, and NO ONE here even bothers to put out a few words of condolence or reflection to their family.
I think oceanperch's observation is right on the mark. Many here have been so obsessed with trying to play amateur detective on the Levy murder that they overlook our humanity in the process.
2sheep: You should be ashamed of yourself for using the death of someone's child to offhandedly throw down some scripture. Your self-righteousness and lack of human decency gives Christians a bad name.
Sure, Chandra made some stupid mistakes, as all of us have done in our youth. But this doesn't mean that God has lost sight of her, and does not give you license to dance on her grave, as you have just done.
What you people need here is less scripture-quoting and more human understanding.
P.S.: Oh, and if you think I'm some kind of DU distruptor you can check my profile to see that I have been an FR member longer than most of you probably have.

Chasing married men and, adultery in general, holds no stigma anymore and it is cursed and can be dangerous. Moral relativism is very dangerous. Thinking you can change someone, is an exercise in futility so at the very least, you get to get heartbroken. Children usually are the ones who get to live with the broken hearts. The fact that the majority of people behave this way doesn't take away the fact that they are playing with fire, and you know the cliche. I think Chandra knew at least a little about his double life. I wish she had foreseen the danger as much as Anne Marie Smith did.

I am a Christian, and I too think that society has slid down a slippery slope. I also remember that Jesus himself said a few things about those who had gone astray and their accusers.
Perhaps it would be better to show some compassion for a family who spent an entire year not knowing where their daughter was only to find out that her body had been ravaged by animals in a park near her home.
Perhaps Jesus would put his loving arms around them and comfort them, and tell those who accuse them of being bad parents, "Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone."
I am not proud of the fact, but I certainly could not throw stones.
My deepest sympathy goes to the family of Chandra Levy, and actually to her too. She was a young girl away from home who thought she was in love, and loved in return.
