SEATTLE - Bulldozer crews were working on clearing a huge snow slide blocking lanes of Highway 20 in Whatcom county, Wash., between mileposts 161 and 163, Monday evening.
The slide is reported to be 30-feet tall and 100 feet long.
Lance Ramsey of the Washington State Patrol said the snow was very wet and heavy.

The snow slide is high in the North Cascades... the remaining winter snow is wet and heavy with spring rain and melt. It is pretty unusual for there to be a slide like this, especially this late. We had a lot of snow up there this year, though!

A&M mom: Bad local news story. Someone vandalized more than 70 markers at the big cemetery at North Street and Cleveland Avenue here in Oly/Tum. Channel 7 covered it. Stones turned over, broken or smashed, the night before Memorial Day. The first to discover it were relatives bringing flowers this morning. They interviewed a poor sad widow. Broke my heart.

Shameful, thought I would let you know... I assume it will be in the paper in the morning.
