Teens...they ain't nothin but trouble....

*sigh*

My boys have been surprisingly good....and yes, they've had their fallings. I have wanted to severely torture them from time to time.

My trump card is that I can still thrash each of them and they know it. I was a seriously good wrestler at one time and can still deck anyone I care to. Walk softly and carry a stick works with teenage boys.

We (my boys came over) stayed up late watching the Red Wings trash the dweaded Avalanche....which is a mite more fun than what you had to do.

So sorry.....but they do eventually grow up.

I was actually quite disappointed in myself for losing control so badly. But he really really disappointed me and besides I thought he had grown up about 5 times already. My daughter - Totally opposite!! Go figure. I think everybody on the block heard my mouth. However, he is VERY repentant today ( I think!!)

The important thing is they know it. Before a boy reaches puberty you need to have them conditioned so that when you use the command voice tone their eyes dialate and they feel faint. If your tone of voice can invoke primal fear, you never have to use force.

I never even spanked my kid after he was 8 or 9, I didn't have to. He is still sure that if he pushes me too far I will hit him and that if he ever hit me back I would kill him. He is still sure of the same things about his mother.
