UM! - take the warning VERY seriously on the first "Council of Elrond" Easter egg.... it is not for the pure of eye or ear! but I thought it was kinda funny!
To: HairOfTheDog
Yes, I found them Hair! Found the TTT trailer by accident last night!
I wonder if there are any more hidden goodies?
Hmmmmmm....

Couple of more tidbits I have heard in the director's commentary:
I watched a bit more of the director's commentary last night... When PJ is talking about the new goodbye moment between Aragorn and Arwen, he says, quote: "this gives us one more opportunity to see Aragorn and Arwen together one last time... as readers of the book know, it will be quite some time before they are together again..."
Also, regarding Galadriel and her ring which is now shown in the SE. Fran speaks of it... She said... "The second of the elven rings Elrond has... and the keeper of the third ring "will be revealed!..."
These guys do know their stuff. The changes were made for reasons of their own, not because they misunderstood.

In case anyone missed it, there is a
thread with 365 new pics from The Two Towers movie. These movie stills are from the upcoming The Two Towers Trading Card Game.
Maquiladora posted about 60 of the new images, and I linked all 365 images at post 17. There are many great pics, so don't miss them.

One of the less well known LOTR fansites has got a complete list of the cast from
The Two Towers from Warner Bros in Germany (New Line being an AOL Time Warner company).
There's a few eyebrows being raised regarding some of the more unexpected names on it, such as:
HALDIR Craig Parker
ALDOR Bruce Allpress
MADRIL John Bach
MAN FLESH URUK Sala Baker
SHARKU/SNAGA Jed Brophy
EOTHAIN Sam Comery
HALETH Calum Gittins
GAMLING Bruce Hopkins
THEODRED Paris Howe Strewe
UGLUK Nathaniel Lees
HAMA John Leigh
MAUHUR Robbie Magasiva
MORWEN Robyn Malcolm
FREDA Olivia Tennet
BEREG Ray Trickett
To: maquiladora
None of those names are particularly familiar to me... Who should I be raising my eyebrows about? ;~D
To: maquiladora
MAN FLESH URUK Sala BakerThis does not sound good.
To: HairOfTheDog
You don't recognise Haldir?
To: maquiladora
Oh - so you are just commenting on the character names not the actors? I knew that Haldir would be at Helm's Deep. You can see him in the trailer in one of the scenes where the elf-archers are getting ready to start shooting down from the wall.

Aldor The second son of King Brego of Rohan. His elder brother Baldor had been lost while attempting to pass the Paths of the Dead, and so Aldor succeeded his father to become the third King of Rohan. He was just twenty-six years old when he came to the throne, and his reign of seventy-five years was the longest in the annals of the Mark. On account of his great age - he reached his one hundred and second year before he died - he is often referred to as Aldor the Old.
Aldor was the founder of a golden age in Rohan's history. In his time, the Rohirrim increased greatly in numbers, and he succeeded in driving all the Dunlendings from his realm. Aldor had many children, of which the three eldest were daughters. It was his fourth child, Fréa, who succeeded him as King, but due to Aldor's long life, Fréa had to wait until he was himself seventy-five years old before he became Lord of the Mark.
Madril
Not listed at Arda: ditto Eothain
Thought perhaps a flashback, but now wonder if some of these are not invented characters??
To: HairOfTheDog
Oh, okay, I understand what you meant now Hair!
Yes, I knew Haldir goes to Helm's Deep...he also dies there, protecting Aragorn. Oppps! But this is the spoiler thread, isn't it? ;-)
The ones that really caught my eye are the ones we've never heard before, isn't there enough guys in LOTR already without introducing more! I wonder where they'll fit in?
To: LinnieBeth
Madhil has to be invented.
To: maquiladora
I think they are probably secondary characters around Edoras and in Faramir's company. We may not even know their names. Like Figwit ;~D

Thought perhaps a flashback, but now wonder if some of these are not invented characters??Might some of these previous Kings of Rohan, etc. be shown as 'The Dead' who are following Aragorn and company through the 'Paths of the Dead'? They ARE visible because Gimli is terrified of them!

Thats a good point!
I'm not sure how much of The Paths we'll see in TTT. I do know that we'll see Aragorn & Co entering the Paths very near the end of the movie, but whether we'll see any more than that 'till RotK is in doubt.

TORn just posted a close-up of a
warg.
To: John Farson
Nice puppy puppy puppy! Whew, that's a mean lookin' critter. That viewpoint reminds me of a pit bull, for some reason.
To: John Farson
Cool! - Those are gonna be horrid. I can't imagine how horrible the mounted battle scene is gonna be, when the mount is more vicious than the rider.
To: HairOfTheDog
Wow, those Wargs are ugly!

First reactions to The Two Towers from Harry Knowles' Hollywood spies?
I've had the miserable experience of hearing from folks that have seen THE TWO TOWERS - folks that are involved in production and that have had nothing to do with production... and these people just make me sick. They tell me things like: "THE TWO TOWERS - unlike 'Clones'.. it is the equivalent of 'Empire' in cinematic context."
Others say it's the greatest movie of all time. I hate these people. They quantify that in the realm of Epic film production - stuff like SPARTACUS, BEN HUR, LAWRENCE OF ARABIA... that sort of thing. It makes my ears bleed. Because I'm the sort of guy that wants to believe that sort of thing. I've heard that the 'POWER PEOPLE' in Hollywood that have seen all the films that are 'The Films' folks would consider for OSCARS this year, that they feel there are only 3 films that will go all the way in terms of many Oscar Nominations and duking it out for the shiny bald one. CHICAGO, FAR FROM HEAVEN and THE TWO TOWERS.
