The Oxford scandal (admission in exchange for $$$), story here. You don't think ... nah. The Clintons always are on the receiving end, not the giving end of big payoffs.

Call me kooky, but I'll bet they could get a donor to do it for them. Who owes them a favor?

No wonder Chelsea doesn't go to class. Daddy bought her a degree. (calling, "moth to flame." "Mr. moth to flame, we're talking about Chelsea.")

Clinton to take part in VAMOS fundraiser
By Allen Essex
The Monitor

WESLACO — Local officials and politicians are excited about former President Bill Clinton’s planned visit Saturday to Tierra Santa Golf Club to play golf in a fund-raiser for a Hispanic scholarship program. Hidalgo County Pct. 1 Commissioner Sylvia Handy said the event would benefit Rio Grande Valley students.

“He will be playing golf with about 30 teams that are each paying $5,000 to play,” Handy said. “They’re going to use the money for the VAMOS (Valley Alliance of Mentors for Opportunities & Scholarships) scholarships.” ....

There will also be a small, private meeting with local investors who will contribute to the William Jefferson Clinton Library, Handy said. ....

Investors? How is a donation to the Clinton slush fund (aka library) an investment?

Oh my gosh, it's now official, Bill Clinton has become a huckster, a pitchman, a celebrity endorser (think Bill Cosby and Jello, Jason Alexander and KFC):

Clinton Comes To NZ For Launch
22/04/2002 05:35 PM IRN

BMW (New Zealand) has confirmed former US President Bill Clinton will be the keynote speaker at the launch of its new "seven" series car next month. It will be his only public engagement in New Zealand.

BMW is spending about three-quarters of a million dollars launching the new models. Around 700 people are expected at a gala dinner at Auckland's Hilton Hotel on the 27th of May. Tickets to hear Bill Clinton speak will cost $600 to $800 each.

BMW's New Zealand managing director Geoff Fletcher says Mr Clinton will be talking about global issues close to his heart.

It will be his first public address in this country since leaving office. Mr Fletcher says it is appropriate to have a former US President launch what BMW expects to be the pinnacle car in New Zealand. [???]

He's selling future access to Hillary! for when she's in the White House. Probably got a cut rate deal going on pardons.

Mountaineer - Who is this Doug guy - the aide. I thought Oscar was his aide and was wondering what happened to him.

You do remember Oscar, don't you? There were stories when Clinton first left office about him and Oscar all alone at Chappaqua. Oscar had to be valet, cook, housekeeper, Buddy walker all in one cause, supposedly, Clinton only got one government paid aide when he left the WH.. Oscar was his valet in the WH.

Ii thought Oscar was the "houseboy" equivalent (in Clinton-speak, just a servant), while Doug probably is some young would-be Monica thinking he's gaining valuable experience in politics by being Clinton's gopher.

Clinton remarks from 9/00 at Georgetown Univ. Law School:

It's also quite interesting to me that Beth Nolan's assistant, Ben Adams and my personal aide, Doug Band, are actually working full-time at the White House. In Doug's case, he's working around the clock, because we're traveling and we're working -- we haven't slept in three weeks. And they're enrolled right now in Georgetown Law. (Laughter.) link.

Okay, I get it now. So Oscar is alive and well? He sounded a bit overworked to me.

Here is an absolutely disgusting story about Clinton and his new dog. The article states, among other things, that Clinton says that the death of Buddy was the worst thing that has happened to him since he left the WH (funny, I would have thought the worst thing would have been last weekend and Monday - remember early this week when he was bragging he spent the whole weekend with Hillary and had lunch with her on Monday-but I digress). He has a new puppy but he has not even seen the dog yet. Can you believe it? He had the breeders pick one out for him. MORE TOTALLY UNBELIEVABLE STUFF HERE ON CLINTON AND HIS LOVE FOR BUDDY

Let's Write BMW and let them know what we think of their association with the bent one. The "comment" link at the bottom of the page is the place to mash.

My note to BMW: Your decision to hire Bill Clinton will come back to haunt you. Reconsider while there is still time - Monica Lewinsky has more credibility than SlickWillie.

What did they hire him for? My devilish husband said he's buy a Beemer if they hired him as a test dummy.
(I'm the nice one in our family.)

Glad to see your puter is in operation, I hope it isn't on life support.

Extending my sympathies 'bout the computer. Mine hasn't been in for a checkup in about a year and is beginning to freeze up, too. It may be time for a new one here.
