7 Days ago FRee Republic had a make over, how do you like it so far?

Last Saturday free republic changed to beta format for it's web site design and the crowd went mad. Many loved the new site design and others hated the new site design.

Now that the dust has settled and a week has passed. How do you like it now?

I had to use a different computer this past week one evening and had to login and had no trouble at all. I do not login from the home page though. I have the pager bookmarked in my yahoo bookmarks and I can access them from anywhere. When I use it from a different computer it brings up a login screen. Seemed to be working just fine. "don't like the fact that it shows pics on "New Posts To You"

You can change that. All you have to do is go to the "My Comments" page and at the top click where it says, "show brief." I had the same problem. I'm not sure how my settings went to the full format, but the brief is definitely better. The other way was a painfully long page load.

At first I hated it. Now I just don't like it much. But since it's what we have - I guess I'll either get used to it or.... or I won't.

I use a webtv with a big screen on the other side of the room, so I don't have any trouble reading the text, But the new format takes FOREVER to load! I realize that part of that is caused by the webtv, but it's a new problem, one that started with the new format.

I didn't see anything wrong with the previous version.

I don't see any radical new improvment in this version.

Shure it took some getting used to. Most of my problems happened because I was going to the pre-released "beta" version just to get used to the change before it happened. When the new version hit though, it really did'nt look like what I had been playing with.
However, the version we now have turns out to be much simplier than the beta, and has features that inprove over the old version.

In all, I like what has been done. I really like the feature that notifies me when I have a reply to a post.

I some what miss the local page and it's posts, simply because posting to that page was faster, easier than doing a full blown post. That seems to be a minor point though.

My only suggestion to JimRob (and I have seen it made by others), is for there to be a "spell-check" feature. That would really clean up my act!
