Maryland or the Miracles?
Maryland has been on a year-long mission to win a title. Indiana has been on a two-year mission to prove that Bob Knight's departure didn't spell the end. On Monday a pair of red-clad opposites will vie for the 64th NCAA title (Clark Kellogg analysis), and Indiana can claim its sixth against no title-game defeats. The Terrapins have never won a championship, but Maryland appears to have the matchup advantages against Indiana. But the Hoosier image and Indiana's unpredictable ascent have already made a compelling storyline.

I miss the way they used to do One Shining Moment..........the past several years it sounds like something that John Tesh put together.

The current rendition lacks the passion and emotion that the previous one oozed.

Congrats to the Terps. I wanted Indiana to win (nice to see a Big Ten team do it), but I had Maryland to win in my bracket, so I'm okay either way.

As Dickie V. would say: It's riot time, bay-bee!!

Did any of you guys catch that Final Four game last year where Duke stole the game from Maryland in the second half when the Terps had 22 points lead???
It was great to see Maryland win this year, Gary Williams finally won the championship he should have won last year.

Well, Indiana lost (that does not make me happy). I wonder how soon from now the Maryland fans will start the riots?

I can guarantee those Hoosiers have better manners than that...:)

Congratulations to the Maryland Terrapins, the 2002 NCAA Champs! Well deserved, IMHO.

Glad to see an ACC team win it, even if not my ACC team. Since UCLA's incredible run (10 Championships in 12 years, 1964-75), the ACC has won more titles (7) than any other conference, and is also the only conference with four different schools to win the title: N.C. State, 1974, 1983; North Carolina, 1982, 1993; Duke, 1992, 2001; and Maryland, 2002.

Sorry y'all weren't in the building at the time, but make room for another member in the ranks of the NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!!!

They won up-tempo games, slow-down games, games they should have won by larger margins, and at least one (UConn) that could have easily gone the other way. Juan Dixon was absolutely amazing...he simply would not let the team lose, regardless of who else was having bad games. But guys like Holden and Mouton stepped up BIG in the Final Four to make it all possible.

In my completely biased opinion, the best team won this year!! (And yes, the rioting and burning have commenced...it's still Maryland, ya know...)

CONGRATULATIONS TERPS!!!!!!!!!!! NATIONAL CHAMPS!!!!!!!!!!!

Went over to friends house to watch the game.
Once upon a time, Cinderella (IU) went to the big dance hoping to meet Prince Charming. When she kissed the prince, instead of the prince turning into frog, he turned into the ugliest TUrtle your've ever seen. The Turtle ccoked up a stew, Cinderella had major shoe problems. ANd in the end, since neither could get a grip on it, they went their seperate ways both relieved that they had not made a lifetime committment. They both looked like loser but, of course they both thought they were winners, and they may be correct.THE END (Until next year!)
