DO you mean to tell me that Halle Berry couldn't go out and BORROW the money just like all the rest of us would have to do? And do you ALSO mean that Halle Berry doesn't have to carry insurance for just this kind of thing, like all the rest of us do? And finally, why in the world would Oprah Winfrey pay to bail out Halle Berry? I thought Oprah was into personal responsibility? It's not as if Ms. Berry didn't commit some crime since apparently the judge decided she'd have a settlement to pay. Does anyone know Oprah's number? I have a house whose mortgage that needs retiring.

I was also so mad while typing that last post that I failed my first grade grammar teacher. Sorry, ya'll.
Oh, and by the way, who in their right mind would think that having a child together cements anything? If you ain't got a solid relationship before a kid enters the scene, then you will make one sorry parent.
OK, I'm off my soapbox.

Doesn't Rosie have enough children already?
When I hear things like this, I barely know where to begin. They are doing those children a terrible wrong, twisting and perverting the mind of innocents.
At one time in history, they would have been imprisoned, or worse.
I hope they reconsider having a baby, they aren't toys or props.

Maybe Oprah could make my van payment this month, I really don't feel like it.

I am with you on all counts with Oprah and Berry. ( By the way, Style Magazine has Halle's High School Senior photo. Halle is using a new nose ).
What has my knickers in a twist is that Oprah is ' too busy' to go to Afghanistan with a women's contingent of Condi Rice, Karen Hughes et al. Poor Oprah, she cares so much that she can't find the time to help the poorest women of the world as they try to get an education to better themselves.
She is all talk and no do. I will bet you my bottom dollar that if Hillary asked her to go, she would pay for the whole trip herself.

Lookey what Rush found:

Even out of office, Bill Clinton remains a formidable fund-raiser--and an attraction at the rope line. He posed with two unidentified fans at an Oxford University alumni fund-raiser at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City. (Check out where he's looking---cheezy sleazeball!)

Thanks for the laughs and the gossip. I KNEW you all are up on everything IMPORTANT!! LOL
I've been out all day with my grand daughter who is spending her spring break with me...quite a compliment for me IMO. We went shopping (of course!), had lunch, bought clothes, and got birthday stuff for my soon-to-be 7 yo grandson. He's an only child and has everything, so it's been a real problem deciding what to get him since I cannot and will not buy him a car or a pony...the 2 things his parents haven't yet given him. I went to Old Navy, got him boy shorts with zipper pockets and things, a plaid shirt and a collared t-shirt to go with the shorts. No toys this time. Then a trip to the book store WHERE I got him 3 books: Richard Scarry's BEST READ-It-YOURSELF BOOK EVER, THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS, and BEDTIME STORIES FOR BOYS.
The day's outing was a welcome relief/escape from the horrors of the Mideast news.

My neighbor's 9 year old grand daughter was visiting her last week and they allowed me to go shopping with them one day. What fun we had. She has decided that purple is a neat color so she bought a purple watch, a purple wallet and purple socks. And when we went to lunch we let her choose an appetizer and dessert in addition to her meal. ('Course this required a doggy bag, lol). Her poor Mom was so distressed, saying "Oh she will think I am boring now".
It was fun but I was totally exhausted when we got home. But it did keep my mind off all my troubles as well as the world's for a few hours.

The USO Canteen is indeed still around. They are located in the News Section. We are in the General Section, aka the Cheese Section. LOL....
To: lodwick
It's here somewhere, I think in the News/Activism forum. If you aren't on a ping list, you'll have to use your navigating skills.
Good luck, and try not to get lost!

Here is the article about the Clinton's Easter vacation.
CLINTON IN DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
Chelsea is with them this year so no hanky pankying around I guess. Wonder if Ian joined them? I am sure his Republican parents are just thrilled that their kid is hobknobbing with all those liberals....if he is there.
To: MaeWest
No kidding. We are a daily news clearinghouse. I also don't know why we aren't included in the Daily Thread section.
I feel like a redheaded stepchild.
To: daisyscarlett
I wonder how Ian's grades have been since he took up with Ms. Clinton?
His parents might rocket him the heck away from Oxford and his new lady love if all these extra-curricular activities are destroying his academic rating.

I'm thinking Hillary must be livid with her one and only getting serious with a Republican, even though supposedly the family is very rich. The father owns a successful company and Mama owns a horse breeding ranch, sort of like a hobby. They are socially prominent. Can you imagine a wedding where everyone was not fawning over Hillary!
:BTW who do you suppose is going to get stuck with the tab for Chelsea's wedding or will they make the poor child wait till 2008 with hopes that Mama will be in the WH and we the taxpayers can pay for it?
To: daisyscarlett
If Chels is wise, she and her husband to be will pay for it themselves, or better yet, elope.
Can you imagine the guest list? We would we be treated to more photos of underdressed, overly made up celebrities.
Her gown would be designed by Donatella Versace, I'm thinking white leather with a plunging V neckline, for maximum droopage. Of course when you line your eyes like Cleopatra in the daytime, no one will notice the sagginess of the bosoms, your attention is drawn upward to the two black eyes. She could have Bono sing "With or Without You" as the Processional. Madonna could sing "Like a Virgin." Gwynneth Paltrow could wear her see-thru blouse with no bra.
Can you imagine the father of the bride checking out the bridal party's racks?
There are so many hilarious possibilities here, the imagination just races.
