What are some of your favorite comedy shows of all time?
For myself, I like Howard Stern's old Channel 9 show, Fawlty Towers, Police Squad, The Young Ones, et al. I'm sure other people have different ideals as to what they consider humorous....

WKRP is definitely one of the greatest. I grew up watching Cosby/Family Ties which were great shows too. I Love Lucy though has to be considered the Funniest TV series of all time, IMHO.

A show that lasted less than one season, but in my opinion was one of the best written, hence funniest shows ever was, Bakersfield P.D.
It was one of the earliest shows without a laugh track so I presume it was "over the head" of the typical TV viewer.

Fawlty Towers, SCTV, The Simpsons, Green Acres, I loved all four of these, but SCTV doesn't hold up too well (on recent viewing). The Simpsons might be the best show ever. I'd add Seinfeld to the list, and early SNL. Andy Griffith was pretty funny, too.

For "laugh-out-loud" funny:
Monty Python's Flying Circus
Among sit-coms:
The Honeymooners
(There are a couple of sit-coms I like better overall--Andy Griffith, Dick Van Dyke--but they were not so much "laugh-out-loud" funny.)

Variety/Humor -- The Red Skelton hour; Saturday night live;
Sitcom (time based) -- Andy Griffith Show; Beverly Hillbillies; Bob Newhart; Seinfeld; Friends
