Yes, LCS, we seem to be completely unconcerned about idea of a thread change... hobbits are slow to muster. If they don't mind our size and broken picture, then I guess I don't mind either! Lets talk about it again in another 10,000 posts!
And Happy Fathers Day to all of our dads in the Hobbit Hole!
Sir SuziQ wasn't even HERE for Father's Day. He was New Orleans last week for a conference and spent the weekend with his brother on the beautiful Redneck Riviera (otherwise known as the MS Gulf Coast!) We talked to him last night and the kids wished him a Happy Day! He'll be home later today, and we'll do the gifts then
I spent a large part of yesterday at the Church. I was a Eucharistic Minister at 12:15 Mass, so I took the kids to that Mass. Then I dropped them off at home and went BACK to Church to the 25th Anniv. Mass of our Assoc. Pastor. I sang in the Festival Choir, and we practiced for an hour before Mass. Mass lasted two hours what with all the music Fr. Dennis had chosen, but is was just beautiful. It was thrilling hearing all the priests who had come for the Mass joining in the Doxology at the end of the Eucharistic Prayer. After the final Blessing, the Bishop got up to say a few words about Fr. Dennis, then Fr. Paul, our Pastor got in the last word. They were an absolute HOOT talking about Fr. Dennis's early years as a priest. After Mass there was reception in the Parish Hall and that went on for another 3 hours! The last hour or so was just a few of us, and we brought out Asti Spumante and a birthday cake because today is his 51st birthday. It was so much fun, and he was so happy and content to be with friends and family. There was an enormous turnout for the Mass and party. I think the Parish was just eager to show him and Fr. Paul how much we support and love them.
So yesterday was a busy day, but I STILL couldn't get to sleep until after 1am, so I was a LITTLE late rolling out of bed this morning!
