I hadn't heard the soundtrack before seeing the last movie, and I didn't even hear the music the first couple times at the theater... Information overload, I guess something had to go! So it was the music.

Later, the music became more prominent. I think it will help me this time, if the music is more familiar, a comfortable familiar thing in a storm of overwhelming new sights! Least that is the way I am thinkin'.

I had the soundtrack of the last movie before it came out, so I was familiar with some of the themes. This time, I'm letting one of the kids get it for me for Christmas, so I'll have to wait until after I've seen the movie. Clare and I saw tFoTR 5 times in the theater, and now we've got the DVDs so when we listen to the soundtrack, we can picture what was going on when that music was played. I listen to it all the time when I'm driving! I'm sure we'll do the same with TTT. I just regret that I don't have that gorgeous new music that Howard Shore did for the Extended version! I think the song when the elves are going through the forest is one of the most beautiful pieces of music I've ever heard!
