Then when I saw him scowling at me like I was some kind of slough-off, it just was the last straw. Eleven years I've put up with it. I've had it. I just want peace. Maybe you could try "Well, Bless Your Heart, you must have had a really BAD day!" "Mine was great, I got everything done I needed to do and now I'm just relaxing a little bit". See if some of his sulleness will turn to guilt! Maybe he won't get the message the first time, but if you keep up the 'happiness', the sun might just come up on 'marblehead'!

LOL! It wouldn't work, but it's still fun to think about. I usually just keep bubbling along cheerfully ignoring him until he either swings out of it or I get sick of it. It's childish.
Usually, if he's fixin' to swing out of it though, he'll mutter something like "Aren't you just a ray of sunshine." kinda in a sarcastic but teasing way. Usually skies are clearing then.
It's really all a shame, because when he's happy, he's a wonderful guy, funny, kinda goofy. But the problem is you never know when the axe is going to fall.
