I'm not sure he wears pants at all... wasn't he in a robe-thing? Elves are big on flowing robes, but that's ok, it makes them look regal. Not at all like men in skirts.

[sigh] To "wear the pants" in one's own home (forest) means to be the master or head of the household (or foresthold...whatever)
