There used to be some pretty heated discussions about stuffing - some people think if it ain't cornmeal, it ain't stuffing! It was always interesting seeing what were the traditional components of a Thanksgiving dinner in the various parts of the country.

Thankfully we don't have that problem in our house. I stuff the turkey with apples, onions and celery, and serve mass quantities of cornbread dressing on the side!

I am not sure I understand what people see in dressing. It's all brown mush to me!

Which leads to the other argument...if it doesn't actually go in the turkey, the proper name, I guess, is dressing...but my family has always called it stuffing anyway. The turkey was always "stuffed" with just an onion, some celery, and butter, and the "stuffing" never saw the inside of a turkey!
