Well I am LOTR deprived, so couldn't join the fun. In any case, I am feeling more than a little somber tonight, due to the world situation. I see the dark clouds spreading from Mordor covering all of Middle Earth. Places that seemed civilized and free only recently are scenes of Orcish violence. The terrible evil which we thought destroyed 57 years ago spreads through its home continent and around the world. The demonic forces in the East and South gain in strength and impudence, threatening all with an eternal night of the soul.

The people of freedom surrounded by the forces of hate withdraw behind barricades, while in the stronghold of the forces of decency weasel-tongued agents of the Dark Lord say that his victory cannot be gainsaid. Who is there now to take the Ring of Power and hurl it to destruction in Mount Doom?

Oh, LCS, you sound depressed tonight... the world is bleak. But after all, no one really likes the time when they live...

So do all who live in such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we must do is decide what to do with the time we are given.... there are other forces at work in the world besides the will of evil.

I don't know why, but that is an encouraging thought.
