I actually have hit one; I was doing about 55 mph at the time. It did ruin both of our days! His permanently... at least my car was fixable, and the insurance covered it.

Yikes!! I'm glad you were ok. A friend in NJ hit one once with her 68 Ford Station Wagon. That vehicle was a TANK, but the deer still smashed the hood!
