You aren't going to believe what has happened!
You know I don't live in the best neighborhood? Not the worst, but not the best. Anyway, our very BEST neighbors moved away about a year ago and we were crushed, they were so nice. Anyway, the ladies that bought the house were lesbians and so it was pretty clear that although seemed nice and all, I wan't going to be really chummy with them. THEN they went and opened a daycare! Right there a cross the street. Cars parking in our grass we'd tried so hard to make nice. The neighborhood was a madhouse. I couldn't say anything, because I am very cautious about upsetting people. Don't want some bogus child abuse charges filed on me, you know. The thing is, they were right between 2 retired couples and one of them complained and the city shut them down. So then they put their house up for sale again. I started praying! I said to the Lord "It would be nice to have another retired couple there, or at least someone who wouldn't give us a hard time about homeschooling!" I even told my other neighbor, "You know, it would be nice if the Lord could put a homeschooling family in that house." But what are the chances of it, really?
Last night, I met the new neighbors. They are young, very young newlyweds! The wife was HOMESCHOOLED all her life, as were all her siblings. They intend to start their family in about a year and intend to homeschool, when that time comes! I'm sooo tickled!

Hooray for you and your neighborhood!

Good news! Does either of them play the tin whistle?

That's great 2JM! It's so nice to hear about people's answered prayers. So many don't believe God cares, but He does and He shows it every day through millions of answered prayers.
What is it He tells us? Open our mouths wide and He will fill it? From the sounds of the way your prayer was answered, you're full. ;^)

"You know, it would be nice if the Lord could put a homeschooling family in that house." But what are the chances of it, really? Oh ye of little faith. What don't you understand about "Ask and Ye shall receive?! LOL! I'm thrilled for you! We have some new neighbors up the street, and although I've seen the cars in the driveway, I haven't seen any PEOPLE at the house yet. A mini-van drove up the other day and disgorged a bunch of young teenaged girls, but I don't know if any of them belonged at the house or were just visiting. I guess I'll just have to go up there and say a neighborly and nosy "Howdy"!

Congrats on the new neighbors! They're probably thanking God for you folks, too.
I got really lucky when I bought my house, too! I didn't know the neighborhood or anything, but ended up with wonderful people all around. On one side my neighbors are a big family (five at home, as I recall) who I believe homeschool some of their kids, though I'm only slowly getting to know them - I have so little time at home! The father is a Baptist youth minister. Most of the rest of the neighbors are people I know from church, though I hadn't realized until I was in the process of buying the house that they lived on that street!
I am blessed!
