Yes, that's the best time of year there also, apple season, fall. A little chill in the air, you can feel that winter'll be on soon. I love the fresh cider that you can get, mix it with a little whiskey.

Why not just drink the hard cider?

Lovely picture OT. I've never been to the mouintains region of the Carolinas. We usually skirt them on the west heading down South on I-81.

Someone mentioned 'The Long Hot Summer' on yesterday's comments. It was based on a compilation of several of William Faulkner's short stories. I remember seeing the version with Don Johnson, and seeing the arson scenes, remembered WF's short story, "Barn Buring". For a Mississippi girl, I am woefully ignorant of MS writers. We did not study them in high school or college to any extent. I read Faulkner's "The Bear" in a college English class, but don't remember reading any others. I'll just have to start reading more Faulker and Eudora Welty!

I like to get the non-pasteurized cider and let it harden a bit! :)

I also like to make hot spiced cider. Mmmmmmm
