What picture of ecurb's are you referring to? I didn't see a picture!!
Let's see...
- going for another cup of coffee
- checking in with a co-worker
- checking "just in case" you have new posts/freepmail
- going to the restroom
- making plans for lunch...
Get with the program Kevin!
I feel like I've experienced a tesseract.
More croissants for everyone!
Visit this bookseller's page and scroll down to the listing for the Retief books... it's listed, although it's been sold already. (Google is wonderful!) Also, that title is listed on this Laumer bibliography.
I like Zelazny's Amber series greatly. Haven't read any of the rest of his stuff.
Yeah, that's what I get from most people when I mention Zelazny (sigh). If I may recommend some of his other stuff... his early short stories were more science fictional, most especially look for the collection The Doors of His Face, the Lamps of His Mouth, and Other Stories. That one has four of his best science fictional short stories, including the title story and A Rose for Ecclesiastes, both of which won Hugo awards. His novels were more fantasy-oriented, although early on especially many of them had science-fictional underpinnings. For serious, read Lord of Light, my favorite and probably his best novel; for fun, read Doorways in the Sand, a very silly romp.
Anyway, your Rose is a Heinlein fan? Good for her.
Yup, she'll tell you she grew up reading him, and that's why she has the political leanings she has today. She agrees with you on his work though... likes the early stuff, doesn't care as much for the later stuff.
(sigh) As Paul Harvey would say, "It is not one world."
Hopefully before his first date!
Hmm... have you experienced any "lost time"? Were there strange lights over your house last night?
cue "X-Files" music...
The Truth Is Out There! ;)
I loved "A Wrinkle in Time" when I was a kid! One my favorites, one I read the cover off of! LOL And that's what I meant when I said I felt like I'd been in a tesseract. But it seems to me (here goes the talking out of top of head) that there truly is some theory about this being possible...and that the book was loosely based on the theory.
I have been known to not know what I'm talking about in the past...
