Ahh! - Thanks! - I suppose I should have one of those! - But alas... I do not! - If I really ended up in super survival mode, there is a big pond within walking distance that the horses could drink from. Course, I could lead them there, but I couldn't make them drink.

Let me tell you the best thing! I don't care what anybody says, this stuff is fantastic.
Take a large can of regular Spam, run it through a meat grinder, chunk up a bunch of velveeta and run it through the meat grinder. Grind up a couple of hard boiled eggs too. Dice up an onion real fine and mix all of this stuff together. It makes a kind of spread. Spread it on some hamburger bun halves, and broil it open-faced till it's crisp and bubbly! Mmmm! My husband calls them poker sandwiches.

I imagine a nice shredded cheddar would do good...if it was shredded fine. You need it to be melty.
