Will certainly keep you in my prayers

So, we're "cross-praying" that we'll each get jobs? Cool!

It probably takes someone who has watched it 9 times to notice that 1) the horn is broken and 2) there was no way during the fighting that it could get broken.

Re: your earlier question

From The Silmarillion, Chapter 23: Of Tuor and the Fall of Gondolin

"But often Maeglin went with few of his folk beyond the leaguer of the hills, and the King knew not that his bidding was defied; and thus it came to pass, as fate willed, that Maeglin was taken prisoner by Orcs, and brought to Angband. Maeglin was no weakling or craven, but the torment wherewith he was threatened cowed his spirit, and he purchased his life and freedom by revealing to Morgoth the very place of Gondolin and the ways whereby it might be found and assailed. Great indeed was the joy of Morgoth, and to Maeglin he promised the lordship of Gondolin as his vassal, and the posession of Idril Celebrindal, when the city should be taken; and indeed desire for Idril and hatred for Tuor led Maeglin the easier to his treachery, most infamous in all the histories of the Elder Days."

It'll be even cooler when we both get 'em! ;-)

So you've already been through the interviewing process and all that and are at the (stressful!) waiting stage? I wasn't quite sure.

I'm a bright, burning star. That's what I am! Smeagol the Supreme, Gollum the Great, Superstar Smeagol. It all fits... and I wear those titles with all the humility of my split personality.

Hmmmmm, those are great ideas. I had not got to either of those stories in The Silmarillion.

Thanks.

You don't waste any time, do you?

Sigh! It's much easier to goof around than it is to write! I have 300 words down, and my sisters will be here in about an hour! Plus I gots to make dinner...

Ever wonder how the normally sure-footed Gollum managed to pitch himself, and the Ring, into the Cracks of Doom?

Check out this quote that was buried in this article:

Then suddenly, as before under the eaves of the Emyn Muil, Sam saw these two rivals with other vision. A crouching shape, scarcely more than the shadow of a living thing, a creature now wholly ruined and defeated, yet filled with a hideous lust and rage; and before it stood stern, untouchable now by pity, a figure robed in white, but at its breast it held a wheel of fire. Out of the fire there spoke a commanding voice. "Begone, and trouble me no more! If you touch me ever again, you shall be cast yourself into the Fire of Doom." [ROTK: Mount Doom]

Smeagol touched the Precious and went into the Fires of Doom.

Yep...been on two so far, and have the 3rd (and hopefully last) this Friday. Then...I just sit and wait. Fun fun.

The cool thing is, this job wasn't even advertised. In fact, not a single job that I've ever had in my adult life has been advertised. I found out a long time ago that oftentimes, the best jobs aren't even in the paper. Companies will typically look internally first to fill an opening, then they'll work with a recruiter or an agency, then as a last effort, they'll put the job in the paper. I can't imagine anyone WANTING to get innundated with several dozen resumes the day after putting an ad in the paper...so they often don't place it in the first place.

Just my $.02 anyway, for what it's worth.
