I will not rest until I have found the real thread killer...

I almost forgot my FR anniversary!

I for one am a sucker for romance!I like the classic romance novels by the Bronte sisters, etc, however, I find Jane Austen's writing tiresome. I loved the movie versions of "Sense and Sensibility" (Emma Thompson's Oscar for screen adaptation was well deserved!) and "Emma". I like them better than the books, and that is unusual for me.
Another adaptation, which was on PBS a couple of years ago, was "Persuasion". I could watch it again and again! Ciarin Hinds played the Sea Captain whose courtship of a young woman was ended by her on the advice of her family. Several years later, they are again brought together by circumstances and the young woman begins to look at her life and how she was 'persuaded' to do things with which she didn't agree. I haven't read the book; I might find it tiresome as well, but the screen version was awesome! You might be a able to find it in your local library, or it is probably for sale on the PBS website. I'm fixing to check half.com, myself!

"Are you allowed to fall in love with your own characters?"
Sure, Pygmalion and Galatea. It seems to be a very old artistic tradition.

At one time, Peterborough had a thriving Folk music club. I don't know if it is still open or not. Maybe Rosie knows.

Reverend Mother, I have sinned.
Sigh...why do I keep letting those jerks get under my skin? I go over there, make a couple of fairly benign (honest, really, no...I mean it) comments. Then this guy responds. I have enough crap going on in my life right now. I think it's time to go cold turkey again...

Sigh...Corin Election Day Threadkiller...
FR is slowing down. This is gonna stink if it's this slow tonite...
I've got rehearsal from 6-10. I'll be around after that. See y'all at the returns? Will we have to report results in the chat room?

Second of all, I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm getting kind of excited about hearing the results from today. It feels like good things may be getting ready to happen.

I'm not betting on having any definitive answers any time this week.
If the Dems lose ANY of the "important" ones, they'll fight. For the next 3 weeks, we'll hear nothing but "voter fraud" and "voter disenfranchisement"...mark my words.
This is going to get uglier before it gets prettier.

If the Dems lose ANY of the "important" ones, they'll fight. For the next 3 weeks, we'll hear nothing but "voter fraud" and "voter disenfranchisement"...mark my words. The Dems' existance depends on their being able to deliver goodies from the public treasury to their constituents. If they lose their ability to deliver, they will melt away like the Wicked Witch of the West in a shower
This means they will use ANY bit of fraud, rather than lose

Thank you very much! I missed it by a couple of days! I signed up right before the election. It was the election today that reminded me!
I'm getting ready for the Watch Party tonight. Got the boys nicest jeans pressed and my only pair of slacks out of the closet. I plan on taking the digcam with me, I'll take pictures of any dignitaries.

I plan on taking the digcam with me, I'll take pictures of any dignitaries. Is it a digcam because you're taking pictures of dignitaries?
Is it a kidcam when you take pictures of the kids? ;-)
I gotta run folkses. Hope we're all happy tonite...

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm getting kind of excited about hearing the results from today. It feels like good things may be getting ready to happen.
I am too! Let's get those positive vibes rolling across the nation.... How are things looking in FL? Is Jeb safe?
To: 2Jedismom
So where's my award? :))
To: Overtaxed
Happy Anniversary, OT! Do you think Liddy is going to make it?
To: Overtaxed
I voted! I feel really great! It was cold and rainy and I voted for the loser and it took ten minutes to find the polling place, because they moved it again, but I am a voting member of society! This was great, can I do it again next year?
I guess my parents managed to instill a love of this country in me. I remember going with my mother to vote for the first Bush. I remember sitting up late coloring in maps for presidential elections and learning about "electoral votes". I would have done anything to vote in 2000.
But enough of that... I have to finish up today's entry for my story. And to you people who think I dislike romance... secretly, deep down - I don't hate it all. I just am really, really bad at writing it.

Isn't it a good feeling? My first presidential vote was for Reagan's second term. I was so proud. I couldn't vote for him for his first term, but I used to stick Reagan stickers to the back of my liberal language arts teacher's car! LOL
Story from long ago now follows.
One time (before I could actually vote), I was out with a very politically active conservative friend of mine in high school and he saw some dignitary in the store. He and I were plastered with our conservative campaign buttons (as usual) and he saw this guy and ran around to my side of the car, jerked the door open, dragged me physically out of the car and hauled me into the store just so we could say hi to this guy...who was a democrat. It was funny because I had broken my kneecap and was on crutches, which the guy I was with just abandoned in the car and literally hauled me into the convenience store without them! So here I stood in front of this democrat dignitary balancing on one foot grinning like a jackass eating cactus and covered in Republican campaign pins! LOL I love to think about it.

Do you think Liddy is going to make it? Depends on if the deceased vote makes it to the polls. :0
Well....I've got to get a move on. Meeting the Freepers in Raleigh. You know how it is in Raleigh. Go, go, go!
