I only have one question... did I miss part 3, or did you? ;)

Well...I'm cheating a little by posted them with the day of the month rather than by part number. So neither of us missed part 3...I just didn't really write anything on day 3.

And I'm paying for it now, since I'm behind!

Good work Jen. Keep it up. You're like our pace car...

I think I got caught in the pits when the caution came out. :)

A bit more planning might help. My problem is that I didn't like the way my original plot was going and I didn't scrap it for a new on until the 30th.

Ah, I see now... I didn't understand your naming convention!

I've been meaning to ask, would any of you object if I put up a webpage with links to all the story parts? I just had a heck of a time trying to page back through the Hobbit Hole to find all the links... a single page that could be added to as we went would be more convenient for potential readers!

So... lock yourself in the bathroom one night and write out half the quota!

Just kidding. In this race, it's the effort that really counts. 60,000 words for me might be less difficult than 25,000 for someone who hasn't written anything since college. This is about pushing ourselves to our limits, not anyone else's. And if you're still writing in March, I'll still be reading.

But not tonight. I must sleep and dream sweet dreams of Democrats losing big time... if only!

Please do! I've been hoping someone would do something of the kind. Does Rosie have an index page?

I haven't made one, but I could. I may also start posting in html instead of .doc. Shouldn't be hard to convert.

I might be doing that next weekend. Either that or I'll have a clean house and all my yard work done. :)

An old joke? I just don't plot well. Now or then, and I have done writing since college.

I typically have a really good basic plot, with the beginning, end, and two or three points in the middle...but they all end up as writing islands, with no way to get from one place to the next. I'm hoping that doesn't happen, but it's quite likely.

I've never finished anything longer than a short story. I've started...but not finished. So my goal should be not to FINISH, but to make it to 50,000 before I give up in disgust again. ;-)

3000 words to write tomorrow, if I wanna get caught up!

That's fine with me. You can just link to my Table of Contents page if you'd like...

Evening all. I'm signing off here for the night and going to try to write a few hundred (thousand?) words before I go to bed.

Not sure what the next few weeks/months hold:

My father-in-law has taken a turn (or several turns) for the worse. We know he's in some stage of kidney failure. Saturday they took him to the hospital because he hasn't been able to eat and keep anything down. His heart was racing and his potassium and sodium levels were through the roof. He's still losing a lot of blood. The doctors came in today and talked about hospice. He knows what that means. He knows this is the end. We just don't know how long.

We'd appreciate prayer on two fronts: 1) for an easy passing. The doctors have said they'll keep him comfortable, and I believe he has come to accept the inevitable, and 2) for my wife as the executor of the "estate." There's nothing to fight over, no money at least. But this family is incredibly disfunctional. There are five siblings. My wife and her younger sister are the most responsible ones. Another in Greensboro and her husband have been quite helpful, but they're not always logical. Then there are the two dead weights who won't do anything, but have the potential to stir the pot. My wife's concern is that she knows they'll all expect her to do everything, and then they'll resent it.

I had to learn this, but that's exactly the way things happen. I'm thinking I should've used them for my NaNoWriMo project, I'd be done by now.

Speaking of that project, I'm off. I'll keep you guys posted.

Corin

I do hope and pray for peace for your father in law.

I have witnessed in my relatively young life more estates than most, as my family went through a bad period of not surviving the last few years.

Most went well, some were tougher, but ALL are alot of work for the executors, and take finesse and fortitude to manage. I hope and pray for both finesse and fortitude for your wife, and for your whole family in the months to come Corin!
