Smeagol was doing the final run through of her play (13-10 year olds in one and 17 teenagers in the other). Needless to say, Smeagol needs some valium. The 10 years old looked at me like a dog with a new bone. They didn't know one line, they didn't know what to do, in fact, I might as well have been speaking Greek to them.
Oh, well. It will prove interesting on Friday. The teenagers, on the other hand, are funny, they know they are funny, they are beginning to adlib, and having a good time.
Saturday will be fine. Friday, a crap shoot. As my music teacher said... if you put it in them; it will come out of them. Let's hope!

Smeagol needs some valium LOL! So are the kids turning poor Smeagol into Gollum?
To: Overtaxed
It was horrible. They were horrible. I, finally, turned into a raving lunatic. I said... either do it now, or I will cut it. Every line, every word, every song. I will cut it... do you understand me!!
Then they turned around and did it flawlessly... Flawlessly!
Forget Gollum... Smeagol turned into Sauron!

You weren't wearing a Ring, by any chance? :)

Uh oh now you've done it! Wait until the Microsoft defenders get online today! :)
To: Overtaxed
No...I just do not understand 10 year olds, and why it always comes down to threats when it doesn't have to.
Actually, a bad dress is a good thing. Panicked and pressured, they will go home and study their lines. The number one reason a play goes south is actors who don't know their lines.

Uh oh now you've done it! Wait until the Microsoft defenders get online today! :)If they can bash Boromir then it is only fair that we get to bash MS. ;^)
I wonder if there is a correlation between being a Microsoft defender and a Boromir basher?
Oh! BTW, Good Morning everyone!

Well that's what they say....bad dress rehearsal good performance. They made it all the way to dress rehearsal without knowing their lines?

I wonder if there is a correlation between being a Microsoft defender and a Boromir basher? Could be...all the Boromir bashers turn out to be Microsoft defenders.

...and the Microsoft bashers are Boromir defenders. :)

I've noticed that three of the best actors I have ever had the "pleasure" seeing were a certain 11, 7, and 5 year olds that live in my house.
SCENE: LIVING ROOM, FATHER HEARS A "CRASH!" FROM ONE OF THE CHILDREN'S BEDROOMS AND GOES TO INVESTIGATE.
FATHER: All right, who broke that lamp?
ALL 3 CHILDREN IN UNISON: We don't know. What lamp?
Pure Oscar(TM) material.

Nope! I like Microsoft. I believe Microsoft is very nearly single-handedly responsible for the incredible growth in computer users and systems in the past two decades. Let's face it; Macs, quite frankly, suck, and Linux is not for everyone, whatever the Linux worshippers say. Windows, on the other hand, is easy to use for all but the stupidest of morons. Having the same platform on 90% of computers is a good thing, really it is. No worries about software or file compatibility, there'll definitely be someone around who can help you solve a problem, and we're all basically speaking the same language. Remember what it was like when everyone had to make their website look good in both IE and Netscrap? Now that we don't have to worry about Netscape losers so much, websites in generally are looking a lot better.
See? I defended Microsoft, but I can still bash Borry!

Oh no... they knew their lines (at least 85% of them)... but yesterday was a disaster. One little girl just kept looking at me and saying... "now I say this (rattled line off) and then I do this."
Don't tell me, do it. Next time it was her line same story. Don't tell me, do it.
Another little girl will do anything for attention, even if its negative...so her meltdown was more like "look at me." And my Hamlet is just nervous... But, nothing I can do for that except tell her she's wonderful. (and she is)
Because its a play within a play, some cast members use scripts. They couldn't even follow along...
It was a disaster! But, I slept like a log last night, so I must not be too worried. (have a headache though) I have had it a lot worse and the kids have come through beautifully.
I'm going to chalk it up to nerves.
And you are right... bad dress, good performance.
Riddle me this... why do I keep doing this to myself year after year...

...and the Microsoft bashers are Boromir defenders. :)Well yeah, but at least we are justified in our bashing. ;^O

See? I defended Microsoft, but I can still bash Borry! Thus proving our point that in general if one tends to defend Microsoft then that same person will also tend to bash Boromir the Brave ;^).
