Did you just call GWTW a soap opera? Yep!
To: carton253
I watch General Hospital! Brenda's back! Yeah! I'm addicted... I love it. Don't you get tired of watching stupid people meddle in other people's affairs when they can't even get their own acts together?
To: All
See you guys later.
To: Overtaxed
Heretic!
To: Sam Cree
Bye Sam!

Don't you get tired of watching stupid people meddle in other people's affairs when they can't even get their own acts together? Yes, but I still like FreeRepublic...
To: Overtaxed
No, because it makes me seem like my frazzled, fragmented life look better.
I don't watch all the stories. That's why I tape it. I only watch two stories. I like the characters, I like the story lines, and I love to watch good soap opera acting. (Bad soap opera acting is the worst kind of acting)
So, every day, I watch the going-ons in Port Charles. And at lunch, I tune in to All My Children, but if I miss it for a day, a week, a month, I don't really care.

Bye Sam!

Did you just call GWTW a soap opera? I'da called it somethin' worse... couldn't stand it... and couldn't and haven't watched the whole flick... mind numbing drivel about immature, selfish, self centered people living wasted lives... sounds alot like a soap to me...
To: carton253; Corin Stormhands
I used to watch them.... And I am not even southern. I had no idea it was a southern thing!
But haven't watched them since the days of Luke and Laura.

Similar situation here.
We just received a 2 and a half year old bill from our daughter's birth...trying to extort an additional $400 from us.
It was a P.I.T.A., but I fought it, and won.
To: g'nad
I am not surprised, g'nad, that you don't like GWTW!
I have never seen it. Nor read it. Can you believe that? And I am a chick!
To: Corin Stormhands
Yes, but I still like FreeRepublic... good one bro...
To: carton253
I think it is a very well written book on the impact of the Civil War and Reconstruction on Atlanta. I only saw the movie. And what I saw (soap opera) didn't make me want to read the book.
To: Corin Stormhands
Yes, but I still like FreeRepublic... Hehehe.....heyyyyyy!!
To: g'nad
Oh, no. The book is wonderful. The movie is horrible melodrama terribly overacted (style of the day)
I think you will like the book. It is very good.
Like I said, the movie is bad.
To: HairOfTheDog
Can you believe that? And I am a chick! Yup, and yes you are!... it was a waste of time IMO, so I'm glad to hear you chose not to waste yer time on it...shows you got taste... between that and yer diet of red meat off the bone, yer my kinda gal...
To: carton253
I think you will like the book. It is very good. tried to, couldn't finish it...
To: g'nad
couldn't stand it... and couldn't and haven't watched the whole flickI watched the whole thing once. I liked the photography and Clark was something nice to look at....
To: g'nad; carton253
I'da called it somethin' worse... couldn't stand it... and couldn't and haven't watched the whole flick... Now, now g'nad. Just like we tell the cave trolls, it's okay to not like something (cave trolls and LOTR, g'nad and GWTW) without trashing it for everyone else...
GWTW is a sappy romance to be sure. But it's an interesting (and fairly accurate) study of the people and that era in the south.
