Yeah, that's just beautiful, ecurbh.

But it wouldn't be brown on the outside, creamy colored in the middle...It will be more brown on the bottom than the top, especially if baked in a cast iron skillet. The top will get a golden brown, and if you used white cornmeal, it will be creamy colored on the inside. Now I'll have to try to make some! I always add sugar to my cornbread anyway, heretical apparently for the South, but I like the way it tastes, so there!

Here comes SuziQ - working her way through the Lembas posts!Yep, and I'm STILL behind!! I still think Lembas sounds like my teacake recipe. It has been chilly here, so I think I'll bake some tomorrow. I'll let y'all know how they turn out! Then the kids and I are going to bake some sugar cut-out cookies in the shapes of pumpkins, oak leaves and ghosts for a Halloween party on Saturday! We'll decorate them with Royal Icing so they'll look great!

Oh really! - My favorite is the one where Lisa titles her science project something like "Why a rat is smarter than my brother Bart" and hooks electrodes up to a cupcake.
The rat touches it once, gets shocked, and goes away... and Bart sits there and goes bzzzzzz! "OW!" bzzzzzz! "OW!" bzzzzzz! "OW!" bzzzzzz! "OW!" bzzzzzz! "OW!" bzzzzzz! "OW!"
LOL! It reminds me of folk I know!
